I wish there were more striker fired 10 mm options

Am I alone or do other people feel the same way ? I have an EAA all steel 10 mm , a EAA Stock II 10 mm , and a Glock 29 .  I have come to like the striker fired poly guns for carry , but  glock  is the only choice in the 10 mm category .  Don't get me wrong , I think Glocks are good guns and work very well , but there are some other guns that fit me better .

  I have 2 M&P compacts I like very much , and I have an order in for a Sig P320 45 Carry .  I wish Sig , S&W M&P , Walther , or someone else besides Glock offered a 10 mm Striker fired gun .

Not in 10mm I don't! I honestly like that hammer to help cut down on premature slide movement and feel having only the smallish striker spring is at a disadvantage versus hammer offerings. We have an XD 9mm and I'm still a little hestitant about firing +P+ in it. Sometimes I find myself pushing on the slide to make sure it's fully into battery.

Someone made a 10mm conversion barrel for the M&P45. I think it was Barsto. It obviously wouldn't make a good defense gun because the 45ACP breechface was larger than the 10mm case head.

While I'm sure he is suggesting factory options, the breach face for most conversions isn't a problem. The cartridge will align with the chamber, squarely on the breach face. Some problems may be related to extractor, ejector and feeding, in some platforms. I have thousands of undersize case heads fired in most of my Glocks. Cartridge alignment was never an issue. 9mm will even fire in a Glock .45ACP pistol if fed from the magazine at full slide speed. (I do not suggest anyone try this, but it was quite uneventful during testing)

Ultimately, the Barsto 10mm barrels run every bit as reliable as .45, in the M&P45. I haven't owned one, but I've converted quite a few when the barrels were readily available. I'm sure Barsto will still sell them direct, but they won't be the customary retail price.

When was this?!! I have been hounding them for 5 plus years just to get them to consider making one, even a prototype. I ended up chasing down some machinists to make me one out of a green mountain .40 cal barrel blank. They still haven't found the time to actually finish one. That said, I made a small bushing for an old barrel, tack welded it in place on a old MP 45 barrel and rechambered the bushing to 10mm. With minor changes to the mag and a slight bit of work on the ramp, it never failed to slingshot through a full mag of 10mm ammo with the 45 breech face and factory 45 extractor. Of course that's a whole different level than actually live firing one but baby steps.

I look forward to the day the machinist(s) finally finish my 10mm MP45 conversion barrel just so that I can post it to S&W's facebook page as a giant middle finger to them for failing to listen for over 10 years.

As for those concerned by the idea of a hammer no longer holding the slide for a fraction of a second longer. I would imagine that delay could be alleviated by changing lock up timing (much like sig adjusted it on the P220 10mm) or even a delayed lockup like the savage a17 does for 17hmr. All it takes is someone willing to be innovative. Unfortunately, unless its 9mm, an AR15, or a lucrative large contract submission (most often 9mm again) most manufacturers have no desire to be innovative anymore.

I wouldn't mind seeing an XD-10mm.  That would be my pick.  Though, I have to admit, I don't shoot the XD-45 as well as I shoot my Glock 20

I want to see a Sig 229 in 10 mm. But is more likely to be a 227 variant. Although I haven't seen the Carry version of that pistol.

A short 4.4" 220 is nice. I would probably not replace my  Glock 29 for that. Have a Legion 229 in 40. It's the bomb of small pistols.

I just got an answer back from bar sto. They haven't no do they make anything for the m&p 45 platform. They did say the 45 barrel is close to release. This makes me want to know who was actually making 10mm m&p 45 conversion barrels.

Can't you ream a .40?

The one 40 barrel that I tried in the 45 slide did not lock up properly. Supposedly you can put a 40 slide on a 45, but I have not tried that, mainly because I have been told the 40 slide has less mass. I suppose I really need to purchase a full size 40 for experimentation purposes.
