Time to tell us why you like the 10mm so much.  For me, I like the combination of high energy vs. most other semi-auto calibers combined with the fun factor of shooting the powerful round while others at the range guess at what I am shooting that makes so much noise!

About as much cartridge to double stack and still have a comfortable grip.

From light bullets to heavy cast, fast to slow, fits about every need.

Its just plain fun to shoot.

Well I developed my affair for the ballistic potential of the 10mm and the use in semi auto platform way back but got my first firearm chambered for it the S&W1006 Mar 1990.  I actually was loading mine with Blue Dot loads before I got any printed loading data for it.  The addiction of the guns has been all too real as I collected the others in the S&W line up and the Original Bren Ten Standard Model and the Glock 29 and Glock 20SF...looking at still others but being retired and on a fixed income being chopped away by rising cost does slow the collecting down considerably.

This continues to grow as I have worked with many of the loadings and powders chasing higher velocities but nothing rivaled the accuracy I got with the Blue Dot.  I also casted several bullet weights in the 0.401" and even a cast HP design to add to the uses.

The passion for the 10mm cartridge and the preservation of what was used commercially, expanded as Intercooler and others sent ammo for Pull-Down documentations as found in the 10mm Commercial Pull-Down section of the forum.  This data is recorded for all to see and study for those wanting to test what was found.

But seriously what is not to love and enjoy with the ballistics from mild to wild that the 10mm brings to the party!

Huge.

The most powerful semi auto round without a lot of jiggery-pokery, and I can share components and dies with my 40SW.

It was not only a fiscal choice since I loaded for the 40, but also for its wide range of application and flexibility.

Yea I forgot to add that the conversion barrels for 40S&W, 357Sig and 9x25Dillon all have all added another cartridge from the same 10mm firearms utilizing same trigger feel and sight pictures and grip...

I wanted a pistol that was better/more powerful than 9mm or 45acp. I reload so ammo costs is inexpensive. I currently have a 1006 and 610. Had in the past a 1076,a Colt Double Eagle 10mm,and a Megastar.

I love it because I reload lots. The 10mm is just such a versatile round when it comes to that aspect. I can load it soft enough to be shootable as a 9 or hot enough to blow a 45acp out of the water. Because it's a 40, there a so many bullet offerings.

Last, I love a good show at an indoor range so the boom and epic flash when using slow powders pleases me greatly.

Versatility with other cartridges like the 357 Sig and .40 caliber with a simple barrel change. The ability to shoot medium to heavy loads. The G29 might very well be the ultimate weapon to carry. Even though I prefer to shoot 1911 style 10mm's.

You ask:  Why do you love the "10" so much?  I ask  How can you not love the 10mm???

Versatility.  It is the 357 magnum of auto-loading handguns.  I can load light for new shooters, I can load for bear.  I can get full-size handgun ballistics out of a short barrel compact handgun.

There are other non-mainstream calibers that do this as well, but the 10mm is mainstream enough.

I don't love it so much. I just like it.

10mm has the most power out of a semi-auto handgun cartridge that is still manageable. Manageable being in a convenient carry size and recoil. They make semi-auto 357 and 44 mag pistols, but those are too big and heavy to carry around.

There have been plenty of movie/television guns I'd like to own. Like most people I'd see something cool, and want it. 

After an episode of "Stingray" I wanted to learn more about handguns. After "Alien Nation" I wanted a .454 Casull, a .44 Magnum after "Dirty Harry", .44 Automag after "Deathwish". Watched "Miami Vice" and liked the 10mm.
The problem with the "cool" entertainment guns? They are too big for daily carry, expensive to buy, and expensive ammo, but fun to shoot! I shot 7 rounds of the .50 AE Desert Eagle one time at Jim's Gun Store(only cost $10.00 -- long time ago).
So I have never owned one, but someday when I'm rich...

Until that time I'm sitting in my sweatpants with a Glock 29sf in the waistband because it is the compromise.  Easy to carry, not too expensive, and goes BOOM when I pull the trigger. I like that it is a controllable powerhouse.

Another vote for versatility here. Plus the flat shooting aspect and the power.

I think most of us are power freaks.
