*** Update on the EAA .22LR conversion kit ***

  Today I ran half of a Federal Champion blue box brick through it (250 rounds) without a single hiccup! It's also extremely accurate on top of that and will be my primary for .22 shooting. The Ruger MKIII will get alternated in, but is much more of a PITA to clean.
   Some of the past unfired kit rounds I put through the Taurus 992 revolver (about 80 rounds) and 1/2 didn't fire in it! That means the Winchester and some Remington were bonafide duds! I'm really happy I worked the extractor and firing pin spring a little, plus moving to good known ammo. It also shot the American Eagle flawlessy today as well.

Sweet!   

  Sometimes you have to battle through things like this and also make sure you are feeding it the best while sorting it out.

That is a good report.  Last time I ran much 22lr, it was from a Remington bulk pack, and about 5% were duds.

Anything Federal is typically okay. Many of the others aren't though!

Wow, I've never shot a lot of 22 LR. But for something that cost eight cents apiece today that relates to $4.00 for 1000 rounds.
Maybe when the thousand rounds cost next to nothing this was acceptable but in today's world that's not acceptable

Put the remainder of the box through it today while Chronographing the .357 rounds. No problems again!

A few of the swagging crowd have commented that the rim of Remington Bulk seems to be a tad on the thick side...this would be the crowd that takes fired .22lr brass and turns it into .224 bullet jackets. My Rossi revolver sometimes can get the remington to fire on the second strike of the rim at the same spot.

That is good to know.  The 5% failure rate was after second and in some cases a third strike failure, but not necessarily in the same spot.  I will start saving those for my revolvers.

I've had the same problems with the Remington Golden bullets and Thunderbolts. I refuse to buy em anymore. Now, I typically only shoot Federal but have had good success with Aguilar although their gunpowder smells weird. They must be using a different type of powder but I put 1,000 rounds down range with no failures so I'd buy more of it...stinky or not!   

  When I put them back through the revolver and they don't go bang... no doubt it's duds!

I have a EAA Witness I just posted the 10mm complete slide and 4 15 rd mags on the classified on here. I have the 22lr slide and yes they are very accurate. I was planning on selling the whole gun but my 12 year old son shot it with the 22lr slide and he told me it is now his. My RIA 1911 Rock Ultra FS 10 mm is supposed to be at LGS tomorrow. My post in the classified explains why I am selling the 10mm slide.
