Looking through this section, I didnt see any talk about lever actions.  How many of you guys/gals are into lever guns.  I love my lever guns.  Heres my family:



First is a Marlin (Pre Remington) 1894 CS in 357 Mag.  My dad bought this rifle about 17 years ago or so and gave it to me about 10 years ago. This is probably favorite rifle that I have.  This rifle really likes 140 grain Hornady XTP with a good dose of H110. 

Next is another Marlin. JM stamped 336 in 35 Remington. Late 70's version IIRC.  I bought it from a guy on Armslist who got it new as a birthday gift when he was a child. Mostly load 200 grain Hornady RN for this.  I do have about 300 200 grain Rem CoreLokt bullets waiting to be loaded. Sometime during its life, the rear sight was lost and that is why it is scoped.  Eventually I will put on another rear sight, possibly a "peep" styled sight. 

And finally my "go to" hunting rifle.  Browning BLR in 308 Win.  Another rifle from my dad.  He bought this in 1995 and only put a few rounds through it.  I kept begging to shoot it or buy it from him.  Stubborn old man wouldn't budge.  Til one day he called and asked if I was still interested in buying this rifle.  So I bought it from him for what a local retail appraised as "trade in" price.  Deer season 2013 I took two white tail with this rifle.  I was planning on an Elk hunt this year, but such is life, I can't go this year.  But I put on see through rings just in case I needed to make a quick shot at any critters (Grizzlies) and finding them in the scope would be too slow. I have plenty of factory ammo currently for this rifle.  But I am working on a 180 grain Nosler Partition load. 180 grain Nosler Ballistic tipped handloads did work pretty good in the rifle.

Eventually I would like to get a lever gun in 44 mag and possibly 45-70. 

Have a base Henry 22 and Henry 357.

I have 3 Marlin lever guns purchased back in the early 80's...
The Marlin 336-C 30-30, the Marlin 1894-C 44Mag and the Marlin 1894-C 375Mag all have been great shooters...

I really like my levers too and Marlins better still!!

I really like the BLR too! I would like to find one at a decent price in good shape in the 270 Win.  There is a BLR that keeps popping up at a local retailer.  Its a 358 Win Mag.  Its in that $600 range which is a super nice price for a BLR.  I think people buy it, cant find ammo for it and then return it at a loss.    If I could find a couple hundred brass, I would snatch it up in a heartbeat.  I see ammo seek has a decent listing and not to outrageous prices. 

cw that first 1894 you have there, that is sweet looking wood on that rifle.  They are all nice looking rifles, but that wood is something else.

I'm a piker compared to you guys. Just one, a Win/Moriku 1892 in 45 LC.

Reeder GNR#2 45-70 necked down to .375.
Henry H009B Brass action 30-30 very accurate rifle that has allot of class.
Henry 22 mag
Puma 480 Ruger Legacy arms
Gave my 358 BLR to my oldest son and gave my Henry Big Boy 45 LC to my other son.

Pretty dang fond of my Marlin 1895 45-70 too.
Dreaming about that bucket list "some day" Alaskan big game hunt.  In the meantime; for hunting in thick or brushy woods around here, the Marlin shines.

No pics handy, but I have a Winchester 1894 NRA Centennial Musket (my 1st centerfire rifle) in .30-30, another '94 in .356 Win, and my favorite of my 3, a Marlin 336-ER, also in .356 Win.

I have had in the past, a Savage '99 and a Browning BLR, both in .358 Win.

I only have one lever action, and it's a weirdo. Win 95 factory chambered in 7.62X54R. Keeps my 17 Mosin Nagants in good company. According to the serial number it was manufactured in 1916.

Many also didn't. This one apparently never made it to Russia. It doesn't have the mod for 7.62X54R loading clips, and no Russian proof marks.
