Hello Dave and welcome to the forum!  There is plenty of data in the commercial ammo sections, also the videos of the gelatin test and the details in the pull-down sections to help you with your studies and decisions.  Enjoy! ;D

Hi everyone. Glad I found this Forum. Have been a 10mm fan since 2007 and own a Gen4 G20 and carry a Gen 3 29sf as my EDC. Both equipped with America pro I Dots. Have owned Gen 3 G20 , Gen 3 29 and a Gen 3 G20sf. I roll my own and have since 2007. I am from the Republic of Texas moving here from the nanny state of New York in 1998. Don't miss the liberals, taxes, shoveling snow and scraping my windshield or the otherwise  awful weather. I haven't seen snow in 18 years and only want to see it on the news.Glad to be in Texas and on this Forum. I see some others here that i recognize from other forums. Now I know where everyone is from the Ten Ring.

Texas 48, glad you decided to join us here and welcome aboard!  I have to agree with you about the what was going on on the other sites.  While we have had only very few disturbances in the force, people have been very pleasant and willing to participate sharing their experiences.  Hope you find that experience here!

Best regards!  :D

How does that work out having red dots on a carry piece?
Some people think I'm paranoid because I have so many guns. With all my guns, what do I have to be paranoid about?

Hello, I am new to the 10mm round. My wife recently picked up a Gen4 G20 glock. I found a G40 Glock 10mm Hunter. Getting ready to start reloading this cartridge so looking for mucho info from those of you on this site.
I have been shooting for over 5 decades and really enjoy the handguns but know my way with a rifle. A pleasure to meet you.

Greetings all of you crazy 10mm fans,  I think I like the attitude of this site and I would like to join up and share.
My name is Dan and I live south of Seattle.  I purchased my first 10mm way back in '91.  Still have it and it is always close when I am resting.  My love of the 10mm started with my 41mag. love that gun but limiting yourself with a six gun is a pain in most competitions, So I did some homework and found the 10mm is real close to the 41mag and holds 16 shots.  Seemed like a no brainer to me so I jumped in to the 10mm with both feet.
The Best carbine/pistol cartridge out there IMHO.  A very close friend of mine found a 10mm D-MAX at a gun show and bought it, later he found a 45 and the 10mm was for sale.  I had to have it....  A Douglas Match barrel and 35 round grease gun mags, heaven I tell you.  Two inches high @ 50yds dead nuts on @200yds.
Personally I have been an RSO for a couple of decades, worked at local range for several years, where I repaired and maintained the range guns. Competed in and ran "practical pistol" matches in the '90s and the early 2000's.  Been thinking about getting back to it soon.
Been reloading for 35 plus years.  Mostly pistol.  I honestly do not believe I have saved any money reloading......but I am sure I have fired a lot more rounds for the same amount of money spent.   Anyhow I could carry on for days about the 10mm, but we will save that for other postings.
Thanks for a real 10mm page,
Dan

Great intro and welcome.   ;D

Real name is Guy, live in New Braunfels, TX.  Wife & 2 kids, both boys ages 12 & 15.  Veterinarian by trade, small/companion animal practice I've had for 20 years.  Hunted, fished, shot all my life but no real training nor expert.  Just means I've got a lot of bad habits to live with & hope they don't ever really bite me in the butt.....  Most of what I've used is shotguns & hunting rifles, pistols generally only for plinking & (until Tx allows open carry this January) concealed carry.  Saltwater fish with the family a lot out of Port Mansfield, mostly bay but some light offshore.

Looking at my first 10 mm, Texas just passed open carry so I'm looking at upsizing a bit at least for one of my carry guns when I'm less worried about concealment.  Already gotten quite a bit of good info off this site just lurking, looking forward to getting more from you guys who have a lot more experience (10 mm & all the way around) than I do.

FishNFam, Welcome to the forum, glad you liked what you saw with enough interest to join the fun!  Good luck with your procurement...

dan10mmman, also a welcome to the forum here, sounds like you were bitten by the 10mm bug early on as well.  Always like to hear of other's experiences with the various platforms!

Best regards to both of you!

Hello everyone. My name is Jason, and while I have wanted a 10mm for years, I am finally in the process of acquiring a Glock 29sf. A buddy has one for sale and is holding it while I get the funds together. I am pinging and have 10mm fever!!  ;D

I have been reading about the G29(on other forums), ammo selection/choices and all the post of those who say "9mm is fine, etc, etc..." and while googling 10mm/Glock 29 I stumbled onto this forum; I am glad I did. When I finally get my G29 it will replace my G30 I currently lug around.

I do not reload, and I hope to find someone in Fayetteville that does. I'll need some ammo to shoot IDPA next year.  :)

Hey Jason, you going to reload for 10mm as that is the cheapest way to shoot it?
Some people think I'm paranoid because I have so many guns. With all my guns, what do I have to be paranoid about?

The_Shadow

Welcome to the forum Jason and the the world of 10mm...the G-29 is the same size as the 29 so you will be familiar with the platform size and sights.
Best regards!

I'd like to reload, but no space, money, or time to invest in it. I don't get to shoot a lot, so I don't need 500 rounds a month to burn through. I spend time in dry fire practice, to improve my form and gun handling, but that does nothing for recoil management. I am hoping to find someone who reloads 10mm in my area. I have been shooting my Glock 30 for the last few years(when I am able and can afford it). I know 9MM and .45 is cheaper(looking at Freedom Munitions at new FMJ boxes of 50 -- $11.32 for 9mm / $16.31 for .45 / $18.85 for 10mm), but I want a 10mm, so I will shoot when I can, dry fire the rest of the time. I already loaded my Amazon wishlist with 10mm ammo. :)
If I wanted to save money I wouldn't buy any guns or do any shooting, but there is no fun in that. :)

For the price of 10 boxes of 10mm you could get set up to cast and reload and load 1000  rounds, assuming you have saved up brass.
