I've been experimenting with 800X in the 10mm for a little while now and  I'm not impressed. The accuracy just isn't their with the loads I've worked up so far.  I've had better success with 800X in the 357 and 44 Magnum believe it or not.

Hi

My experience in manufacturing processes over 45 years has taught me one thing in particular. Volumetric metering of powdered materials is generally accurate to +/- 2%.  If that variance ( s2 is acceptable, use it. If it is not acceptable don't use it. In my reloading over the past 25 years, I have yet to have an issue using a Dillon Slide bar. If I am loading max loads, I hand weigh every charge.

The lee dippers are another option for volumetric measuring.

The other option if you load is close enough to max not to tolerate a small overage is to calibrate of +0/-X where X is the deviation on your drop.

Im with Wadcutter, either a dipper to get you just short of the desired weight, then dribble the last few grains. I usually just use the dipper to shake individual grains on the pan. I use an elector scale just for convenience, since you don't have to wait for pan, beam motion to subside between dumps.

Good quality beam scales have the magnetic dampening system, so they don't continuously bounce to infinity and beyond!
I use my RCBS 5-10 scale which settles very nicely because of its dampening setup.

I also use the RCBS Uniflow powder drop with the small drum which has worked very well with 800X, but I do set the drop just short and kernel a flake or two or three to level the scale...it is because I work at the upper limits with 800X, that I want to see and verify each and every load.  I load myself custom Match Grade quality ammo, so I take my time to produce them.

I use a lee dipper, a trickler and a scale to weigh every charge. It's slower than using a powder dispenser sure, but I can still do 100 cases in an hour.

I do the exact same thing as you when using 800x. Consequently, my 800X load is my most accurate and I attribute this to hand weighing each and every charge.
