This is excellent! At least someone (other than me) is doing something to this concept. I abandoned (at least temporarily) my approach, using a chamber bushing to accommodate the 10mm (or .40SW) to the .38-40 1892 Winchester. The bushings worked great in the .38-40 revolver, but were abysmal getting them to chamber in the rifle. A custom modified rifle was always a consideration, but far from cost-effective. Still is, unfortunately.

Thanks for posting the link.  Very worthwhile to have the reference.

I am divided.  Part of me just drools and screams I want one, and I do.

Another part of my says get a guide gun in 45-70.  Rifle for rifle work, pistol for pistol work.

I have seen the Marlin 45ACP conversions before, but I don't remember where. I do remember they were not cheap. Off the top of my head, I think they were around $1200-$1500. Nice but not worth it.

I would love to do a 10mm one, but the guns have just gotten too valuable to cut up or modify i think. I sold a nice 357 one i got in a trade on gun broker last year for $1000... I could not bring myself to use it( i tend to be hard on stuff) knowing i would only lessen its value. Sadly the new marlins are pretty much a crap shoot, no way would i spend my money on one. I wont comment on a rossi, they are usually worse.

I think the Marlin quality control issues are overstated.  I bought a new 1895 GBL in 2012 when everyone told me to buy a used guide gun instead because the new Marlin rifles were junk. I didn't listen to them because I wanted the GBL and they weren't as common.  I'm happy to say I've never had an issue with it.  I've also come close to pulling the trigger on a  SS Rossi R92 with a 16" barrel. That's a sweet looking little carbine and they're supposed to be pretty stout little rifles compared to the Marlin which isn't exactly delicate either. Leverguns are fun.

They are not overrated, you got lucky. Everything that group produces has gotten progressively worse since their respective buyouts. Its as if the first departments they shut down were quality contol. There are many many posts on many sites to back this up.

Rossi does produce some ok guns, but nothing near the level they charge for. The fact that their customer service is among the worst in the industry is more than enough for me to stay away.

Very nice
I'd love a 10mm Lever
Wouldn't do this to any of my pre-Crossbolt Marlins though
Maybe (just maybe) if I found a nice price on one or maybe a Crossbolt of even a Remlin
So tell me again how Trump was worse then the 8 years before .... AND what came after HIM !
