Help me design homemade armor that is cheap and practical. Every few years, the leftist control freaks float the idea of an armor ban but if we can demonstrate that someone can build something just as effective, if a bit less comfortable with $20 of supplies from Home Depot, it takes a lot of the wind out of their sails. I'd like to hear your ideas on what we can do to make a lighter, cheaper, better plate.

There are a lot of "home made armor" videos on youtube.

I use my college physics book. Even if a bullet has half as hard of a time getting through that book as I did, I am safe.

There certainly are. It's not so hard to stop bullets, especially pistol rounds. A little harder to stop rifle rounds. What I want to do is to develop a standard that is affordable, light enough to be practical, and most of all, reproducible.

Imagine the value this would have in under-developed countries where a child can encounter small arms fire on the way to school.  I am all for this.

No ideas though.....yet.
