I went in to pick up ammo and wanted to handle "any" P220 they might have, since I never saw the 10mm in my past visits. The counter guy said they didn't have a P220 in the case, but he checked the computer for a 10mm and wouldn't you know it... one in the back. I was kind of shocked the newest Sig out and they had it in the stock room! He was shocked too and thought it might have been there because it isn't sought after (10mm). Up on the counter and in my hands to go over it:

   Since I just sold my 1006 everything about it is fresh in my mind. Let me tell anyone reading this and thinking about buying the 1006... buy the Sig instead. Some of what Jeff Quinn (GunBlast) said I felt the same way. The take-up in the trigger in DA is better than the 1006, pull is better and SA/reset is better as well. The grip feel is much better than the 1006. This Match model had Sig's night sights and they are probably better than anything you can add to the 1006 (can you even get them for the 1006?). It's pretty much a tank like the 1006, although a little lighter. In looking at the magazines they are made in Italy and more than likely Mec-Gar?

    Out of the two, this may indeed end up being the better one out of the two. With parts support and limited options for S&W's this is a no-brainer what to get today.

     I still like my capacity, ergos, looks, function, trigger, etc... of my Witness pistols better than both of these though 

Well said. I only fondled it for a few minutes myself the other day. Magazines were surprisingly thin. Like a 1911 magazine, but the 1911 mags aren't their best feature.
I was very impressed with the overall feel of the gun.

So what was the price on it ?

$1300. Better prices on-line!

I've seen some go for $1100 online. Do any of ya'll think that for those of us that can exercise a little patience (6-12 months) there will be some lightly used ones popping up in the sub $900 range?

Years ago I used to carry a SIG P220 in .45ACP.  Nice pistol.  I have yet to hold one in 10mm, but it is something to look at.
