I just got back from a week in the mountains. I took 1300 rounds of a combination of 10mm and 40S&W ammo, drove 300 miles to get there, and I forgot to bring a 10mm magazine. :'( :'(

I keep a magazine in all my guns so this type of thing doesn't happen, but I only have a G20 10mm slide/upper for my G21 45ACP pistol, and not a complete gun, so I couldn't idiot proof myself.  :-[ :-[

The G21 45ACP magazines didn't work.

The weather couldn't decide whether it wanted to rain or snow.

Oh, well. Next time.

I don't that there isn't a person, especially outdoor person, that hasn't forgotten something. As long as it isn't safety related, it makes for a good story and good ribbing. I've forgotten my hunting rifle, a sleeping bag of all things, and then numerous other items.

Thank GOD I am not the only one who is doing stuff like this  ;D

Yes it happens and it really becomes a mess when you make such a long haul.  Here lately it seems I'm loading more and more stuff on my range trips, range bag with the various ammo, mags, extra conversion barrels, chrony and accessories in addition to my range box with all the cleaning tools.

Even with some stuff in the bag and box I have been known to leave things behind... ::)

I've done worse. I have gone out of town to go shooting with a friend a couple hours away and I loaded a range bag then took another one I didn't realize my mistake until we were at the range.

I've walked out of the house with out my phone, keys ( I keep one hidden out side so I can get back into the house now ) wallet ( most of my stuff I carry in my vest pockets ) cigars - you name it - but I've never forgotten my 10MM.

Don't beat yourself up over it, we've all done it, at least those of use who are honest with ourselves!  I showed up to an IDPA shoot once and went to load my gun (G35) and accidentally brought along G23 mags, too short so they wouldn't fit...didn't realize it until it was show time!

Guilty, too.

A few years ago, I went turkey hunting. Drove about 100 miles, got to where I needed to be......forgot my turkey loads. I had three 2 3/4 #8 shot shells to go hunting turkey with......naturally, the turkeys never got close enough to use the #8...but would have been on the ground with the turkey loads.  Some days you win...some days you regroup and move on.  :)

OK, top this:

Two weekends ago I needed something in my car in my driveway - THAT'S ALL!  I go out, the metal hand rail outside slipped a bit so I decided to fix it right then and there.  Walk into the garage, get some tools, go out and fix it, put tools away and go back outside.

Start talking to my new neighbor and discussed some ideas for his new landscaping project.  I actually contributed a lot to the conversation.

Came back inside and my wife just off the cuff, quickly asked me what I was doing outside?  I drew the biggest frikken blank in human history and had to say, "I don't KNOW!?"   :-X :-X :-X :-X      I had NO IDEA why I went out.........

Went out about half hour later to get my briefcase and IMMEDIATELY came back in and went into my study.  Stayed in until we left for dinner.  :'(

I'm glad I'm not the only one that does this kind of thing.
