Saw a thread on graybeard outdoors about glock has been sold to beretta, but i cannot find a single confirmation online. All that pops up is the april fools thing from 2011 saying the same thing. Dude claims to have confirmed it with several sources. Neither of the ffls i asked have heard squat, and one sells a bunch of glocks. I would think his rep would have said something.
Anybody here heard anything?

Its a gag from 4 years ago April fools

Thats what i think he is trying to pull, but he seems serious... The bit he said about a glock share holder though confirming made me laugh. Gaston owns it all by himself according to last thing i read.

I'm not sure Beretta has that kind of cash.

I would agree....I'm not sure there is any firearm manufacturers out there that has the cash/resources to purchase Glock.

I can't imagine Glock being purchased by Beretta...maybe the OTHER way, but Glock basically "owns" most of the handgun market world-wide...they have ZERO reason to sell, and are probably "bigger" economically speaking than Beretta.

As they are both privately held companies, no public information is really available.

But I think you guys are far under-estimating the size of beretta.  Glock makes handguns and a few other tools.

Beretta makes a wide array of side-by-side shotguns, over-and-under shotguns, hunting rifles, express rifles, assault rifles, submachine guns, lever and bolt-action rifles, single and double action revolvers and semi-automatic pistols.  Among the companies it owns are Benelli, SAKO, Tikka, Stoeger, Uberti and Burris Optics.

I don't see Glock selling to Beretta, and I have no idea how fiscally healthy Beretta is, but in terms of annual sales, Beretta dwarfs Glock.

I wouldn't agree with this. First, if you don't know what their sales are, how is it possible they dwarf Glock?  ::) It would be nice to see what both of their annual sales.....Glock sold aprox 200+k G42s last year...this has been repeated by several, included Masaad Ayoob, recently. I'm not saying Beretta is a slouch, but I'm not sure they dwarf Glock.

Diversity of the markets served is the key indicator for me.  Like I said, without published and audited financials, it is hard to say.

Styer is allegedly the only company Gaston would agree to sell Glock to.

No question, Beretta is more diversified and the diversification is strong.....but I would like to see what their sold firearm units are compared to Glock.

I vaguely remember some analysts publish some numbers a few years ago.....IIRC, Glock sold more units than any other manufacturer....again, it was some analyst......I'll keep looking. When Gaston passes.....we will probably some realistic numbers.

Although, if Gaston is still fighting his ex-wife he may need the cash or could sell for a buck and then be kept on as a highly paid consultant.

I had heard this theorized before. Unless they can prove he is nuts.......speculation is it will be hard for the family to get what they want.  ::)

Time will tell.

Yep....and I'm not schooled enough in Austria divorce laws. I was chatting with some legal friends...which I will go out on a limb here and say they are not well versed in Austria divorce laws either...but they probably knew more than me.  ;)

I figured through the legal challenges to date there would more company info divulged, but there really isn't.
