Patriot, last night Jeb called for immigration reform not deportation. Today he calls for REPLACING Obamacare.

Dudes a LIBERAL and he will lose.

Some people have pride and honor. Don't judge them on one issue.

I agree with wolfie for once on something political.  Jeb Bush is a liberal but possibly a fiscal conservative. Hell he is getting large donations from pro-choice groups.

That's the thing. Abortion is a dead issue. It's never getting overturned. Gay marriage is probably going to be made legal nationwide by the supreme court. It's a dead issue. The majority of the country support both. Deporting all of these illegals isn't going to happen. There isn't enough money in the budget to handle that case load. Jeb Bush is the type of republican that can get elected in this current America. He supports gun rights, did well with the Florida economy. That might be the best bet right now. A far right candidate will not win right now. Someone in the middle is needed. Jeb Bush is that person.

I know. It sucks. But Clinton will win if someone in the middle isn't chosen. Every poll shows Hillary destroying every republican except Jeb Bush. The Hillary vs Bush polls are close, very close, within the margin of error close.

If only the voters realized how much power they give away by worrying about who pundits think is electable... they play you for fools.

"A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship."

Patriot, why is Abortion and Gay Marriage a dead issue?

REPUBLICANS FAILED Conservatives. A REPUBLICAN Supreme Court will affirm Gay Marriage as the law of the land.

Now what's left? Economics, Foreign Policy and Gun Rights.

Now Jeb wins the Gun Issue but how does he win the Economic and Foreign Policy issues?

Bush I S&L scandal

Bush II GOP Great Recession

Foreign Policy you will have a choice between GOP style Shoot From the Hip Cowboy Diplomacy to real diplomacy.

Liberals have won, they have taken over the GOP, some have Tunnel Vision and cannot see it.

The great recession had very little to do with Bush. He continued and expanded on the Freddy and Fannie policies that Clinton started. Clinton expanded the bill Jimmy Carter (a democrat) signed into law to help poor minorities get loans (Community Reinvestment Act). Bush inherited that. Additionally, Clinton signed the Gramm–Leach–Bliley Act which allowed investment banking and regular banking to no longer be separate. Regular banks started playing the stock market with people's cash, and when they went to withdraw their money, it wasn't available. Yes, that was Clinton and the congress working together. Bush inherited that too. Bush just happened to be President when these massive bank failures took place. Wall street took advantage of Clinton's policies, and after Bush became president the whole thing nearly collapsed.

And the Commodity Futures Modernization act, signed into law by Clinton, this bill removed oversight on derivatives by the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Then you have NAFTA. Signed by Clinton as well. Tons of American businesses laid off American workers and moved to foreign countries. American car companies opened factories in Canada and Mexico for cheaper labor.

Everything that Bush gets blamed for was signed into law by Clinton. Bush was just in the unfortunate position of being president when all of these things starting crumbling the economy.

But don't get me wrong. It was a GOP congress that passed the bills that Clinton signed. But it wasn't Bush.

Most economists agree that it takes years for economic policies to have an effect. The policies of Reagan kicked in to make Clinton look good. Clinton's policies kicked in and it made Bush look bad. Bush's policies have started working and Obama looks good. Now the next president will suffer through the results of Obamacare and the Obama disaster.

Thats right Patriot, 2 tax cuts for the 1st time during war was a great idea.

Prescription Drugs another great idea.

Medicare Plus another.

Elective War with Iraq another great idea.

GOP Senator Orin Hatch, "It was common not to pay for things under Bush."

But go ahead and blame Clinton I am sure the electorate will agree with you when Hillary is sworn in.

That's a whole different issue. You said Bush was to blame for the recession. I showed you how bills Clinton signed, not Bush, caused the recession. Now you've changed your game, now bringing up blah blah talking points about the national debt because you don't understand the difference between the two.

I get it. You live in NY so you love some liberalism. Cool. Enjoy your high taxes and restrictive gun laws.

Personally, I find very little that I agree with democrats on lately. They are leading the charge of the wussification of America. They are against American exceptionalism. They cancel our military programs. Decommission our navy ships. Replace our military leaders with puppets that say they don't need a strong military. The cities they run are cesspools. On the list of the top 25 most dangerous cities in America in 2012, all except one are run by democrats over the last 25 years. I can't find any good in the democratic party at all lately.

I have a brother that is in the electrical union, and he sees what the union bosses tell them, not what is happening in the real political arena.  He's swears up and down Bush screwed the country...not taking the Jimmy Carter and Slick Willy Clinton acts into the equation.  The Government wrecking the working taxpayers and giving to those that are on the government dole, will never pay back or become a prosperous via work to be a taxpayer and replenish the system!  So they will never break the cycle of government slaves!

I hate getting in to politics, on the forum because it never leads to any good.  But I will say this current Money Spending administration has placed the country in a serious situation.  It will be a disaster for who ever takes the next seat of the POTUS.  The actions of the current POTUS could eventually lead us into a civil war or WWIII if the USA suffers the economic collapse which seems to be on the horizon! ??

Guys;

I have lived my whole life in Columbus, Ohio and I sincerely believe Walker CAN win Ohio.  The entire state is not union - mostly the Cleveland/Akron/Canton area.  Pretty much the rest of the state is Republican (wish it were Tea Party).

The biggest problems Republican candidates will have here in Ohio is our stupid fuc%$#g' Republican governor (John Kasich), who went after the "golden unions" when first elected - that is the teachers, police, firemen.  He lost that battle soundly but was re-elected last year anyway.  PLUS, he did that ONLY after exempting ALL elected and appointed officials.

The person who positions themselves as far away from the Dems as possible has the best chance.  This "centrist" crap is a loser and the dems know and love it (McCain, Dole, Romney were ALL that way).

Yes Patriot, American Exceptionalism is talking smack and elective war.

Bush is 100% responsible for the economic collapse 8 years into his term, the voters thought so in 2008 and 2012. The day Obama was sworn in we were losing 750,000 jobs a month and we had 10% contraction. In fact when there is a Democrat president, they create more jobs than Republican.

The GOP failed at Family Values, Foreign Policy and Economics, and their gameplan is to go back to the same exact stuff.

What kind of man keeps backing those that failed him?

Geeman

Ahhh, Union  talking points in the morning....., in the afternoon...... and in the evening  ::)

We understand if you vote for your financial best interest; Bought and paid for.

The thing is all the welfare junkies, the government employees, union zombies....  Pretty soon they will ALL be bought and paid for.  That is the day freedom dies.  RIP!

I'd vote for Jim Webb....but he has little chance of getting the Dem nomination. Their controlling group is more far left. The Rep power brokers are all in for more big government, so their candidate is Jeb. If it's Clinton-Bush as the two to chose from I'll sit this one out for the first time in my adult life.

I don't get it. I keep seeing this from "gun owners." Any vote for any GOP guy, including Jeb Bush, is a vote for gun rights. A non vote is a vote for Hillary. And probably a return to the Clinton gun ban.  :o

Webb isn't anti-gun. Annapolis graduate and combat Marine officer in Vietnam. 'Born Fighting' is an interesting book he authored on Scots-Irish in America....he's also written several others, not one of which is ghost written drivel intended only for self promotion. Granted he is a Dem but far apart from the lefty-wacko wing of the party. But he'll never get the nomination.....

I don't think polls this early mean anything one way or the other. Clinton may not be the candidate this time either. In 2012 she was supposed to be a lock and ....well, wasn't. The off year elections gave the majority in the Senate, and a stronger majority in the House to the Republicans. And what did they do with it?.....caved in their first test over funding for Homeland and current immigration policies. Those policies were what many voted against in the last off year election.

There will probably be a few surprises in store before we know who the nominee of either party. So far I like Walker....Jeb or Christie not so much. Anything would be better that what we have now. ;)
