Since I found this forum somewhat recently I have come to like many things about it, not the least of which is the respect and depth of discussion provided by its members to other members and newcomers.  I also really like it for the knowledge and news of 10mm related matters.  These aspects are present more so than most other more populated and larger, brand-specific forums.

I recently went on a rant about our current president and what I think.  That's not the problem.  The problem, as I look back, was that I went overboard in my writings, used profanity and tried to slam the door on any opinion other than mind.  FOR THIS I SINCERELY APOLOGIZE TO THE FORUM AND ALL OUR MEMBERS HERE.  I stand by the ideas I have but HOW I said and presented them was not called for.

The real issue is that I have grown so weary of the steady loss of respect for this great country as well as the slow erosion of the principles of our founders.  The current president, while not alone in this area, has (in my humble opinion) greatly accelerated these problems.

Anyway, my purpose is to apologize and pledge to try and temper my opinions better that I have recently so we can continue to have the high standards and open discussions here we enjoy.

Thanks,

Pat

No problem. I read your posts in the other thread and agreed with what you wrote. We're pretty tolerant here. We're all adults. We've only banned one member in two years. How many forums can say that?

Pat, this forum is comprised of many people from many walks of life.  Our diversity has made the forum what it is today.

I also share many of the same ideologies as it pertains to the current Greedy Government Gone Wild for power and control of the people.  If there are any two things that can stir up an argumentative point of view between people, it would be "politics" and "Religion".  Therefore seeing how erosive things have become to our very freedoms being under continuous attacks, no matter how small, has all of us on the edge and defensive posture.  Not that, that is a bad thing.

While I accept your apology, this is a public forum which very open minded.  Our common bond has been comprised of the 10mm guns and ammunition, many of us have been pushed aside in the other forums you speak of, like we were different, outsiders and did not conform with the those other calibers.  But rest assured that the people of this forum hold a deep passion which also encompassed those very rights and freedoms to which we all share.

I look toward a brighter horizon, as we close out the term of this sitting POTUS, and usher in the next.

In the thread you were speaking of, I typed a response, right from my core.

Then I deleted it without adding it to the thread.

I have my beliefs (constitutional libertarian) and if I thought someone might be swayed, maybe I'd have posted it instead of wiping it out.  I didn't think I'd change anyone's feelings so to the next page.

I'm not a fan of either party.  Both move us farther away from our god given rights.

Sigh....

Oooops, I didn't succeed in staying out of that thread after all >:( >:( >:(

Buckeye,

Very stand up of you to make this gesture.  Rest assured I felt you crossed no boundaries or propriety.

I have spent a good part of my virtual life embroiled in debate over a variety of topics.  Over time I have learned to say my piece, support it with links as best I can and then sit back and watch the show.

Like Geeman, I don't think much of most everyone in politics regardless of what animal is on their brochure.  None of them have really shown themselves to be thinking about the greater good in my opinion.

I am kinda a CAVE.  Citizen Against Virtually Everything.  And my own state of Utah just illustrated why.

Several years back...probably close to 20 now, they passed a secondary seat belt law.  That means the officer can't pull you over for not wearing a belt, but can write you an additional citation if he pulls you over for something else and you aren't belted.  At the time the legislature promised this would never become a primary offense.

Guess what...That just changed.  Now they can pull you over for no belt.

And that is why I fight everything tooth and nail.  Because it seems not matter how much they take, how much the regulate, how much they encroach....it is just a matter of time till they encroach some more.  So I fight it all.

I also believe in a true republic, with properly formulated laws, the amount of work for congress should decrease exponentially over time.  But that doesn't seem to be the way we run things.

Oh well.  Back to my CAVE.
