LWD new Gen4 stainless steel guide rod assemblies!
QuoteWhy pay $55-60 for a competitors Gen4 guide rod assembly that doesn't even allow you to remove the springs easily? Our LWD version is half the price and more user friendly.

Not from what I read on their site, but they mention removing the springs so maybe or later ?

I'm wondering if you replace one or both springs on a gen4 rod. Haven't seen much info to date on swapping out gen4 dual springs - only info on changing gen 3 style single springs with the  gen4 adapter bushing. LWD mentions it in their ad but doesn't really go into detail.

LWD confirmed that interchangeable springs will be forthcoming, but the date is unknown.

I went ahead and ordered the high polished this morning from LWD.

FYI- I will report back my findings which might be a few weeks since I want to run it through the paces.

The SS guide rod assembly arrived today. I weighed it on my food scale and it weighs in at the advertised 1.4 oz.  Installation, fit and finish is noticeably better than the OEM (bent). To be honest, I didn't notice the extra weighted. I cycled the action by hand with no feeding issues, etc.

I will follow up with over all performce after a few weeks of use.

Quick update:

Felt recoil feels the same. Maybe cause I don't have another Gen 4 pistol with the OEM recoil system to switch from one pistol to another. Accuracy (muzzle flip)  is the same at the same rate of fire (cannot go any faster).

However, I'm no longer having the last round pick up failure on hotter loads so that's a plus.

PS: I think the real difference will come when LWD comes out with different springs to increase lbs.

Yea, hoping to see this sooner rather than later.

Just following up:

I haven't had any issues with the last round not getting picked up so I'm pleased.

No other issues to report.

LWD needs to step up and come out with a spring kit so I can play around with heavier springs

Looks good. How are the springs changed?[

there is a removable threaded allen head tip which allows disassembly
