So, I was checking out the EAA website. If you click on firearms-handguns-witness steel-full size, the page says the standard Witness is only available in wonderfinish. They no longer produce the blue guns. However if you try to order a new slide or conversion kit, you can only order blue parts. No wonderfinish parts are selectable in the drop down menus. They only sell wonderfinish guns but all replacement parts and conversion kits are blue? This makes no damn sense. I have emailed them and never got a response.

???

Intercooler

Yea. Did you try their Facebook page?

With the way things have gone for you I would sell the EAA pieces and move to something else.

I hav had a horrible time with customer service. I have broken my Witness 4 times and it has been replaced twice. Shipping was on me all 4 times. Steer clear of that gun and find a Smith...

The Wonder finish sucks anyway.  Sand blast it off and parkerize at a minimum, or better yet spray coat it.

Finally got a response back from EAA. I sent a long email asking multiple questions.   >:( This is what I got back:

Dear Sir

It depends on what we have in stock at the time of purchase.

Thank You
Cheryl

That's a big reason why I don't own any more Witness pistols. They are a good/great design, produced by a lousy company. Quality seems hit and miss (including the magazines), and I've never heard a good customer service story from them. Too bad CZ doesn't make the same gun in 10mm.

I would be fine with Tanfoglio guns if they came through an importer that did a decent QA and stood behind them.  Nothing wrong with them back when Sprinfield Armory was the importer.

Intercooler

I never cared talking to the ladies there. Excuse me for saying but they didn't seem to know the products. Doesn't matter if they are Female but they should know the ins and outs of the product lines including stock.

Have you thought about going through a dealer and specifying in writing what you want?

I actually wish we could just buy from Canada and have it shipped here.

I'm not sure if "lame" begins to describe what I'm thinking.  That said, outside firearms, it would be nice if more women could keep it that simple. ;D
Gun Control?  Oh yes, the theory that becoming a victim is somehow morally superior to defending yourself & your family.  Makes perfect sense.

What time is it?  It is Glock time!

They are really the only other game in town if the game is 10mm and under $600.  And it is a good game.

No matter anyone's general opinion of Glock, the above could be argued, but only in vain.

Kind of ironic, you can spend boat-loads of money on platforms other than Glock and in some respects get a better product than a Glock.  The kicker though will always be;  Not in all respects.

As a wise Jedi said, it depends very much on your point of view.

For me, my Para 16-10mm is superior for my goals/intentions/needs to a Glock 20.  Cost was about the same.

My P12 conversion is going to cost a little more than a G29 would have, but again, for what I want, it will be better in all respects.

Now, some respects don't matter to me.  Replacement time/cost, for instance.  If that was a concern, it would be definitly inferior.  Works off the shelf is another.

But for Grim Reaper's needs, I think a Glock would probably be the best choice under $600 since EAA isn't doing what he needs.

I'm curious how much you've shot that, with full power 10mm? I had one too, a P16 Limited, sweet gun, I really liked it, but they don't handle 10mm well for long periods. The slide and frame will crack eventually, and sooner than you'd think. The P16 seems nicer than a G20, but does not even come close in durability, or in the level of hot loads it will handle.

I have about 2000 rounds through it at this point, but most of them are middling 10mm loads, probably in the 25,000-30,000 PSI range.  My P16 is stainless and is Canadian.  I rescued it from a life as an IPSC gun.  Picked it up used for a song I got to sing cause it looked like crap.  Nice thing about stainless, that stuff all buffs out.

I am in the market for a Glock 20 or 29 right now.  Joined GSSF a few weeks ago, Shadow's influence.  I have my coupon in my wallet, but can't find a GSSF stocking dealer with a G20.  I missed a barely used Gen 3 in the paper the other day by $25.

I have no illusion that my P16 is anywhere near as strong as a Glock.  Curious to see how long it will run.  When it goes I expect I will build up a 10mm Gov't size on an STI 2011 frame.

Same story for mine, got it from a guy that tried IPSC and quit the game. I liked the looks of that stainless slide, with the bead blasted finish and brushed flats. Now that I own a bead blast cabinet, I prefer stainless guns because they're so easy to refinish. I've even used it to make ghost flames on a stainless slide for a buddy's gun.
