Utah has a site where CCW permits can be renewed on-line. The site indicates a "passport quailty" digital photo is needed.

Has anyone successfully submitted such a digital photo to Utah?

I may be over-thinking it, but no mention of resolution, file format (probably a JPEG is OK, but unstated), etc. A physical photo needs to be 2"x2". I can use photo processing software to resize it, but will the scale be maintained on their printer?

Like I said, what they accept is probably not as strict as I'm imagining and was looking to see if anyone has renewed via Internet.

I like this idea. Why pay FedEx eight dollars when I have digital cameras.

I did it.  I used my Nikon D60 and had my wife snap a couple shots against an eggshell white wall.

I used these instructions for framing the photo:

On the right there is a link to a webpage that will load you photo from file and crop it to the right facial proportions.  Utah BCI didn't make a peep about my photo.  It was easy-breazy.

Thanks for that info. Funny how fast five years go by. I've had a Utah permit for at least ten years. At this point, it only adds Minnesota to states I can legally carry in.

But, there's a lot of overlap and some states think it's important to change which permits they recognize. It has NO impact on public safety, but apparently, legislators need busy work.
