Apparently, there's no parties opposing or able to oppose the February ruling. The last trick anti-Constitutionalists have is to insist on an 'en banc' rehearing by the Ninth Circuit.

The illegal CCW process in California is also classism. During my interview at the beginning of my fifteen years of carrying there, I showed for my business, I had "stuff" and traveled to places in Californian where someone might try to take my stuff. If I had stated I want to protect my family and myself, there would have been a big "Denied" stamp on my forehead.

This latest development could lead to that inequity being removed. Good luck out  there.

In san diego, sf, marin, and LA, you cant even get one with a business excuse.  Thankfully im in Sacramento been carrying over 3 years now.  The wife too.  I made it my final straw for packing up the shop and leaving.  If carry permit goes, I go.  Oregon would be the spot. 

I hope no en banc but I think it will come.  Kamala is going to be on her knees begging for it.

Personal Protection without a specific reason could be a negative.

Oh, and the mere fact that one has to petition government for permission to exercise a basic human right is an abomination in the first place.

Hawaii is a unique situation that really lends itself to being a bad place to issue a CCW. The first real obsticle is the Transient Population. It would be all to easy to issue a CCW to someone who is literally planning to leave the islands 30 days after the permit is issued. Which causes a logistical nightmare for keeping track of issued permits. Then you have the fact that 75% of Hawaii's Income is tourism from places outside of the United States. Don't want to scare the tourists ;-).

I am not saying you shouldn't be able to get a CCW in Hawaii at all, I know you can, it is just extremely difficult and is usually reserved to well established (proven to have long term interest in staying in State) or Licensed Personal Security.

Sometime wonder what other rights we don't need.

I was writing about what to put on the application to get the license.

I guess hanging out in Ferguson after dark would be a good reason for most of you.

None of that even comes close to being a justification of taking soneones 2A rights away.  My CA permit should be valid when I travel ro hawaii for whatever reason I choose.

I didn't analyze this deeply (one of the reasons I left that state was to not have to deal with this crap.), it appears the California Attorney General petitioned for an en banc review of her previous denial. She couldn't ask for an en banc review of the original case, she was denied that. So, she asked for review of the denial.

This adds either a sixty day delay of justice or a year, depending on whether en banc is denied or not.

California's refusal to obey the law could bite them in the butt.

Peruta took another procedural turn on Wednesday, December 3.
A judge of the Ninth circuit requested a vote for rehearing of the case en banc, on the merits of the case.
Also, potentionally affecting the outcome, Judge Sidney Thomas, author of the Peruta dissent, became Cheif Justice of the Ninth Circuit on December 1.

Yep, we should not have to go thru any procedure. Requiring a permit is an absolute abomination.
