G20 FTF. Feeding off-center

Hi guys, first post here. I am a member on a couple other gun boards but I think this is the place I have been looking for.

I have found a plethora of threads pertaining to miss-feeds (on a different forum) and the G20, often times with hotter rounds and several theories as to why this may be happening.

I am having a different issue though (I did find it in a thread at one point but cannot locate now...) in that my mags (any of them) do not feed straight. With all of my mags, the round is noticeably off-center, by that I mean the bullet pointed to the left.

Seems like mystery solved to me. If the round is not feeding straight, it stands to reason that one would have FTF issues.

I am not sure what is causing it but with slide locked back I can place a gentle twisting force on mag base plate and line the round up perfectly centered.

None of my other Glocks have this off-center feeding alignment.

This is a Gen 3 model however it is newer and came with the Gen 4 style mags.

Any ideas? Different followers available? Seems like it should be an easy fix to make this gun 100% reliable.

I would check the GSSF site for an event near you and present the issue to the Glock Armorer on site.

Does the round look out of alignment when you just look at the magazine outside of the pistol.  In other words, is the round mis-aligned in the mag, or is the mag good but the magwell is mis-algined in the pistol?

If it is the magazine, have you tried tweaking the feed lips?  I don't think this would be the issue.  When you describe twisting the mag base it aligns, that makes be think it is the magwel.

Do you have other Glock mags?  do they all have the issue?

Is it actually causing FTF?  You say it stands to reason it would, but don't specifically say you are having issues.

tilefish, welcome to the forum!
Yes. Glock has a different follower (revision 5 if I have heard right) for the new magazines, you may want to check on that...

No, its fully out of alignment. The cartridge is fed off center with the bullet coming into contact with the left side of the chamber. I can observe this when working the slide by hand however I can also see more wear on that side of the chamber.

Stock barrel too but it was more pronounced with the SL barrel I used to have.

One other observation is that when I twist the mag (Gen 4 mags, Gen 3 gun) to achieve proper alignment, the mag release button will slightly retract. Its almost as if the mag catch is pushing too hard on the mag and the mag cutout on the other side is allowing for more movement.

IDK, but I have never had typical Glock feeding reliability out of this gun and I own a few.

Does your G20 magazines have the #4 follower? There is a difference between the #3 and #4 followers that appears to address the left side feeding bias.
