22 year old college student was mauled and killed while hiking. This is why (one of the reasons) I always carry in the woods.

This is the reason I always carry.  There is literally a mountain ("rocky" mountain, not one of the hills you have back east) across the street from my office.

News articles like this are commonplace too.  This was only a mile or two from my home:

So...10mm always.

That can be disconcerting, having a mountain lion in the neighborhood.

Bears are not so much a problem around my home, Coyotes and Feral dogs are however. Also, the Coyotes, which normally are singular or travel in a small mated pair pack(male and female with a couple of pups) have begun showing up in multiple mated groups. They are also beginning to become accustomed to loud sounds thanks to the neighbors randomly shooting off fireworks all year long. At the moment they are deathly afraid of our Chow, but, as a group, I am worried that will change. I also have stupid neighbors that will let their snacks out at 2am and not be out there with them. Then they post signs about how their snack got loose and are now missing...Hello...MCFly...Your Snack became Coyote/Owl/Hawk food!

Some of our neighbors are blind to the fact the Coyotes can easily jump the privacy walls. They think that because their pet can't jump the fence, that the Coyotes can't either.

Coyotes will definitely make a nice snack out of Fifi.

Those Metro Sexuals in North Jersey wonder in the woods thinking it's a happy trail. ;D

Haha! Especially from the rest areas on the highways..

Unfortunately in this stupid azz state no one can carry here.  Only cops.   We are not allowed to protect ourselves here.    Sucks but true.  So it's NOT an option

We gotta retire out of this state.

I think (and I'm certainly hoping) that even some liberals in Democratically-controlled states will eventually start to feel like second-class citizens in comparison to the residents of other more gun-friendly states, and start to put some pressure on their Democrat politicians to back off on the gun-control thing.  The statistics about what happens when law-abiding citizens carry concealed handguns continue to accumulate, and will get harder and harder to ignore, distort, and/or suppress, even by the liberal media.

We have a democrat here in Utah that is rated B+ by the NRA and has a good pro-gun record.
