Grim, glad you made the long trip successfully and are now in a 2A friendly state.  Best of luck on landing the job and that they pay you well too.  Cost of living usually means better living since less of your income is spent on housing.  The FL weather will hopefully help out with utilities.  I do think you might need to get a nice big alligator gun though.   

Update: I got the job and start Monday. It's very similar to what I did at my prior job. Investigating internal theft for a grocery store chain. I had to submit my private investigator license application yesterday. I had to take a test and submit a copy of my military discharge papers to prove I went to a police academy to avoid having to serve time as an intern for two years. I will be making $4 less an hour but I won't be commuting like I did in Seattle and the cost of living is considerably less.

Congrats! Great News!  Looks like you're starting to settle right on in...

I'm enjoying it so far. Just need some paychecks to start rolling in.

Congrats to ya.   You won't be missing that 4 bucks TRUST ME.     It's embarrassing how much less I made in FL than i am now  in NJ but i lived very well while down there.  Wife made me leave as she missed her mom but we are looking to move back south again but not sure where.
