Any members opt for the J-frame carry?

I usually carry a .380 ACP during the warmer summer season in a Galco pocket-sleeve.  But I have been considering alternating it with a Bodyguard, or Centennial in .38 +P.  I wonder; how many members like the 'old school' revolver-option.  I wouldn't mind seeing a picture of your snubbie, if you have one available.  Thanks, in advance.

My car/carry piece is a Mod. 60 with wide trigger and snubbed hammer.  While I keep it in a paddle in the car I have always carried it butt forward in my waste band (5 o'clock).  I have way too many others, including an LCP and officer's and commander sized .45s but feel confident with some Federal HPs.

I got rid of mine a month or so ago and got a ruger lcrx (new model with exposed hammer) I wish I had kept the smith.. The ruger is too thick to pocket carry in most pants, looks almost like you have a brick in your pocket.

I have a Taurus model 85.  Actually it's for my wife. Ive always enjoyed shooting it.  Once in a while, I do carry it in a front pocket in a DeSamtis Nemesis.  Bought it in 1994.

I have pocket carried a 2" revolver for about 30 years.  When I was still working in uniform I carried in my weak side back pocket sans holster.  When I retired in 2001 the revolver slowly migrated into a holster and the strong side front pocket.  Since mid-2004 my EDC has been a S&W Model 38 Airweight Bodyguard in a Mika pocket holster, I wear mostly Wrangler jeans and carry a 6 round Bianchi Speed Strip in my watch pocket.

They have all been mostly loaded with Remington 158 Grain LSWCHP +P, although lately I have changed the ones in the Airweight to 148 Grain WC's to try and ease the old girl's pain.  I also usually carry a 2" Model 10-5 in a IWB holster, if I am leaving the mountain. It also has the FBI Load plus a belt carried 6 round Speed Strip, so I also left the watch pocket loaded with the Remington +P.

Since this is the 10mm Forum ...... Whenever I trek into the back country ( which is several times a week ) the Airweight is back-up to my Gen 2 that I carry in a Modified Chesty Puller from Simply Rugged .........  ;D

I picked this Rossi up for 2 bills at the local pawn shop last week. Wanted to see if the wife (well, me too) preferred a .38 revolver over a semi-something. If so, will likely get her an Airweight and put this in my office desk drawer as backup. My attorney friend, who offices across the hall, told me at least I wouldn't have to worry about the cleaning crew stealing it. I responded that it was his clientele who necessitated the need for it in the first place, lol.  Anyone have any experience with Rossi's?

Hey fanninland, welcome to the 10mm forum.  I've heard varying critiques about Rossi revolvers from being adequate for the price-point; all the way to being horrific pieces of 'complete junk'.  Rossi is still controlled by the Brazilian family which bears it's name, although Taurus International has exclusive rights to sell [3] models of the trademarked firearms.  As an aside, Rossi revolvers are manufactured in Sao Leopoldo, and marketed also under the 'BrazTech' acronym.  Apparently, they maintain a separate facility for wholly-manufactured Rossi rifles in the same locale.  Many of which find favor with cowboy action shooters.  The stainless, R92 in .454 Casull looks really interesting.  I've also heard differing criticisms regarding Taurus-made revolvers, and Charter Arms offerings.  I guess, it depends on your particular gun as to how 'good' it may be.

Thanks Zephyr - appreciate that info! Particularly coincidental since I am now typing this from Brazil as I'm here on some business this week. Incredible country & people, but apparently their gun laws are quite restrictive.

Haven't shot the Rossi yet but will do so soon as I get back. I knew that, outside of some CAS pieces their rep was a little spotty. But for the price my better half & I can get our .38 snub feet wet shooting it, then always use as a stash gun somewhere. I have a nib S&W 686 waiting to be picked up at lgs when I return, so it will be interesting to shoot .38's from each and compare. These will be the first two wheel guns I have owned.

Thanks again for the insight - always appreciate the help from you guys here on 10mmforum and enjoy reading the posts.

During the hotter months I am known to carry a j frame from time to time, it goes in my front strong side pocket or slipped in my waist line from time to time. I like the hump back models S&W 649 & 638.

We know exactly where one cow with Mad-cow-disease is located among the millions and millions of cows in America, but we haven't got a clue as to where thousands of illegal immigrants and terrorists are located.

Maybe we should put the Department of Agriculture in charge of immigration.

Many, many moons ago I use to carry the S&W Model 10 (K frame) 2" bbl that I originally bought for my wife to carry.

Great gun, tough as nails and very accurate, snakes didn't stand a chance.   ;D

My normal carry gun is a Glock.  But at times I need a smaller gun for weddings, funerals, doctor appointments, etc so I go with the S&W J-frames.
Many years ago I bought a S&W Performance Center 640 in 357 Magnum.  Great gun!  But a little heavy when carried in a jacket pocket.  Sometimes, it gives me a headache, especially if I counter-balance it with a couple speed loaders in the pocket on the other side.

When S&W came out with the Titanium/Scandium J-Frames I bought a 360PD.  I liked it so well I acquired another as a spare.  I can shoot 2 cylinders of full-power 357's before suffering any ill effects.  These light little monsters carry like a dream in an ankle holster.  I equipped both with laser grips and fixed the Hillary Holes with The Plug.

My wife also normally carries a Glock but when walking her dog she carries my spare 360PD loaded with Snake-Shot.

An early model 63 snubbie rides in an IWB holster when I'm elk/moose hunting.  It is perfect for snakes and the occasional grouse for dinner.  I have no problems carrying it for defense when nothing else is handy.  Shot placement is a whiz since it is so accurate (adjustable sights) and easy to shoot .

I probably forgot to tell you, I like my J-Frames.
