Well picked up this little gun one the first things I will say it is through and through GLOCK. Reliable and accurate and easy to shoot.

I am hoping for a drop in 9 x 18 Makarov after market barrel just because I feel that is a good minimum for SD caliber. But the 380 ammo is getting pretty darn impressive in comparisons in Gelatin the results look pretty darn good making the 380 much better than a sharp stick.

Now back to the gun; great little gun small for large hands but the recoil is non-existent and the gun is highly controllable as was demonstrated by my daughter who has shot many rifles but little handgun she put a magazine full to the 8-9-10 ring on the B-27 target at 30 feet. My wife who has more experience shooting the 380 and larger guns put 6 rounds into the head of the same target. The gun is flat and concealable shot Blazer, Blazer Brass, Federal JHP PD and Barnes JHP PD loads not one FTF or failure everything ran well for a total of 150 rounds.

Jerry Miculek does a review of the Glock 42 at Youtube, and on the range he was fast-as-lighting!  Hickock 45 tested it also, and the gun jammed on Buffalo Bore rounds.  The accuracy was all you could as for, and more though.

I ran on mag of BB no FTF and a couple of mags of Federal PD  rounds same no FTF then a mag of the Barnes SD rounds not FTF . the accuracy is very true I am impressed with the accuracy of course no recoil probably helps allot.

My wife & I finally got to handle one last night. It was a used one that someone had already claimed. Very nice little gun. We both thought that it is the prefect dimensions for what it is. Smaller & it would be more difficult to use accurately. I think Glock designed this perfectly, at least for us

We will be buying two when we can find them. We already have 750 rounds on hand & 200 more coming from Georgia Arms.

I was finally able to buy 2 Glock 42's last night. Found them online at Tombstonetactical. They received 7 yesterday & sold all in a short period. They should arrive at my LGS on Friday most likely.

I now have another 250 rounds of WWB from Cabelas on sale & free shipping. When all the ammo arrives I'll have 1200 rounds. Although, my wife & I will probably be going thru 200 to 400 rounds this weekend making sure that everything feeds properly.

I've never had anything lighter than my Glock 26 with the exception of a Ruger Bearcat as a kid, so this will be nice to carry.

We've been to the range twice now with the two G42's. My wife's has the new slide stop lever with a slightly modified magazine tab. Mine is the original.

Her's had a lot of copper anti-seize when we picked them up. Mine was the normal amount. I wiped off some but not all of the anti-seize & put some lube on them. We tried Freedom Munitions fmj & Blazer (aluminum case). The Freedom Munitions worked flawlessly in hers. There were a few FTF with the first two magazines of Blazer. However, the Blazer was good to go after that. I think it was simply the unusual amount of anti-seize that slowed the slide & caused malfunctions with the more mild Blazer. Mine was flawless with the Blazer. However, the slide locked back with the Freedom Munitions occasionally. The bullet profile is different with the Freedom. It is a round nose flat point & it has a bigger profile than the Blazer. The Freedom with its bigger profile was hitting the slide stop lever magazine tab & causing the slide to lock back.

We went to the range again on Saturday & now have 282 rounds total thru both guns. 161 of which are Blazer & 121 of the Freedom Munitions. My wife's was flawless with both. Mine continued to have slight issues with the Freedom but is flawless with Blazer. I spent about 5 minutes today filing the slide stop lever magazine tab on mine to match my wife's. It should be perfect now & I'll test it today or Tuesday evening.

These little guns are very fun to shoot. It is also easy to be accurate with them. With just a bit of work I'll be as accurate with these G42's as I am with my G20. My wife is an inexperienced shooter while I've been shooting for more than 50 years. But, you can't tell it so much when she shoots her G42 as she bested me on the last few magazines

We are finding these to be the perfect size. Any smaller & they would not be as shootable.

If I may tell your wife to grip that gun as tight as she can and with the weak hand clam shell squeeze and the FTF will disappear. you probably know this so sorry if it is repetition.

my 25 yard groups with the Federal ran 2.5"  nice little gun. BUG for me My model 29 is primary CCW.

No, not her grip. It was just the excess amount of anti-seize on her gun. The failures to feed occurred only with the lighter loaded Blazer & only with the first two magazines of it. She fired one of the magazines. I fired the second in her gun. We both had the same results. After that, we have not had any further issues with her gun.

that's good I always strip them down as new and spray the heck out of them with Gun-scrubber then relube them and shoot away.

We now have 482 rounds total thru the two of them. They continue to be flawless with the exception of my slide stop. It still doesn't like Freedom Munitions fmj. I've filed a bit more off of the tab, so I'll try it again next weekend.

I watched that video this weekend. It was done pretty well. Interesting that they were also had a rating for appearance, the only category that the G42 lost points. But, they commented that it looked utilitarian which is one of the things I prefer.

I finally got the magazine tab filed on my enough to clear larger bullet profiles. The Freedom Munitions fmj functioned flawlessly. I also tried some Georgia Arms fmj (remanufactured) and it worked perfectly. I've not had an issue with the Georgia Arms, Blazer, WWB, & now Freedom Munitions. I have 606 rounds total thru both of our G42's, most of that thru mine. They are proving to be very accurate, easy to use, & extremely reliable.

I purchased my 42 last month. Awesome. I now have a carry gun small enough to carry with a great trigger. 50 rounds of pmc through it without a malfunction. Then remington golden 103 grainers. Love it

Went to the indor range today to test Blazer (aluminum), WWB, Georgia Arms fmj (remanufactured), & Freedom Munitions fmj. I found them to be from best to worst in that order. Freedom Munitions was particularly inconsistent, especially from box to box. WWB & Georgia Arms were to close to call. Blazer was heads above the rest. The group on the top right is Blazer, 1 /8", top left is WWB 1 3/4", both 7 yards, 7 rounds. Middle was from 15 yards with Georgia Arms. Bottom right was Georgia Arms, 7 yards. Bottom left was Freedom Munitions, 7 yards.
