Otis McDonald from the landmark McDonald vs. Chicago Supreme Court case died over the weekend at age 80. Mr. McDonald was a military veteran and a survivor of the great depression. Most people don't know that he was also an African American gun rights activist.

Thanks to his lawsuit, the people of Chicago are much safer everyday, and the ruling confirmed that all citizens in every state have a right to own a firearm for self defense.
