I was chatting with a friend of mine and the topic of 5.56 X 39 ammo on the Banned from Import list came up.  It seems that there has been some issue with pistols chambered for this ammo being made and the Import of "steel core" ammo in this cartridge is against BATFE rules and laws governing the steel core/penetrator type ammo in pistols.

I did see some post on the search of info mentioning if also...Olympic Arms was mentioned as one making AR type pistol chambered for this cartridge as part of the dealings around the controversy.

Yeah, there were a few AK pistols made available in the 5.45x39 and the BATFE is having their milsurp ammo fit.  This has already happened with the importation of steel core 7.62x39.
I'm glad I stocked up on 7n6.... but still not pleased.
