back in the early 90's california allowed registration of certain sks rifles, then changed their mind and confiscated them.

in 89 and again in 1999 there was registration of certain types of semi autos.  part of the registration law was a ban on any purchases or transfers or lending.  we are starting to see some of the elderly owners from the original bans passing away and leaving their kids with felony level risks.  since they cant be inherited either you have to turn them in to police or have an assault weapon dealer "special ca bullpuckey" sell them out of state.

I know everyone on this site thinks we are insane out here but this is more of a warning of why we can NEVER allow this to spread.  im sure in 89 everyone thought it would only happen in california.

NRA has this on the FaceBook page this morning...
QuoteUntil now, gun control laws hadn't mandated the confiscation of weapons. The Connecticut law changes all that. So far, it appears that the vast majority of gun owners affected by the legislation did not register their guns prior to the December 31 deadline, making between 50,000 and 350,000 gun owners felons. It is terrifying that here in America, innocent gun owners would be put in the same category as sex offenders, turning them into felons.

This is what happens if Governments are given an inch of control! :o  Beware! and Vote to maintain your freedoms! ::)

NRA is wrong in this case.  theyve been doing confiscation out here since 1990.  try letting someone know you have an "unregistered assault weapon" and you will find out real quick they are doing confiscation. its just not en masse. pluck you off one by one.
