I read in one of the gun rags a few years ago, an MP40 was found in an old basement in Belgium with loaded mags. The gun rag said they shot the ammo through the gun using the mags with no issues whatsoever.

The Germans sure knew how to build stuff. Probably still do..

It seems that I'm in a definite minority but that's ok.

Having been married just shy of 40 years (to the same person no less) and not having any children, I've been in the enviable position of being able to buy at least two of every gun that I acquire. One for stuffing way back inside the "do not touch" safe and one for trading or shooting the bajeesus out of. It usually happens in reverse of that, I'll buy an interesting specimen shoot it and after falling in love with it I'll buy the keeper for the "DNT" safe.

Doing so has it's moments though. After seeing the neighborhood slowly deteriorate over the years and the crime severity skyrocket in Phoenix, my wife and I decided to move North to the high country. Hauling those safes up the mountains and the stress of transporting all of my guns separately is something I hope to never do again.

When I began the task of re filling each safe at the new house, I started with the "DNT" safe. The first gun to go into the safe was a prized nib S&W Performance Center 629 Carry Comp, followed shortly thereafter by it's twin. I could never bring myself to shoot the second one, lol. After the "DNT" safe was stuffed to the gills I happened across a box for one of the Carry Comps. I was positive that I'd just put both of them into the very back of the safe, out of sight & out of mind, where they'd be safe and sound. I looked inside the box to make sure that I hadn't accidentally put the wrong gun in the wrong box during the move but a Carry Comp was laying inside as it should be. When I finally emptied the safe far enough to reach the pair of Carry Comps , there I was and much to my surprise I might add, looking at two Carry Comps. I had no idea where that third Carry Comp came from, I sure didn't remember buying it! After searching through my records I discovered that I had bought it off of Gunbroker a couple years prior.
Yehaaa! I now had a shooter.




Oh, and the violent crime rate in Phoenix justified having a defensive weapon in each room. For tactical reasons, of course. 

With a safe full of do not touch guns, a house with a AK in every room, and not remembering buying a triplicate of a performance center gun, It seems that intercooler's bucks and 4949shooters money tree have been challenged, perhaps by MOUNTAIN's MONEY or WILLIAMS WALLET LOL Nice looking guns, we can only imagine what else is hiding in the DNT safe 

I was going to add, that laminated table underneath is 'beautiful' too. 

I about got a hernia moving that table, it's solid rosewood and weighs close to 400 pounds. Luckily the top unscrews.
