I got a Lee Pro 1000. Ill just say I worked out all the little glitches it had. lol  It says max bullet size is 1.260 My Delta Elite has no problem with them. We tried shooting them in a RIA 10mm and it jammed. I measured some Hornady and they were 1.255 ? My question is does anyone have a size bullet they like to reloaded at that works well.?

Deerslayer Welcome to the forum!  The Cartridges for 10mm are usually loaded to 1.2500" to 1.2600", however I have seen some hollow point and WFN (wide flat nose styles) bullets as loaded to 1.2420".

I load all of mine to 1.2500" and they work in all my guns at this length.

My EAA Witness guns and my Glock both eat anything.  But my Para P16-40 usually doesn't like lots of profiles unless they are only 1.250 COL.  So, that is what I load to as well.

Once comment on nomenclature.  Bullet size/sizing refers to adjusting the final diameter of the bullet.  For a 10mm the accepted common values are .400" for jacketed and generally .401" for cast*.

The dimension we are discussing is cartridge overall length (COL or COAL).

In the end, handloading can be about customizing the load to the gun or about economy.  If economy is the goal, then a good load that works across your entire caliber library of guns is what you want.

But...You may want to experiment with COL in different guns.   If group size is half as big for 1.260" rounds in the delta, if may be worth dealing with dedicated loads for different guns.

I'm just starting to reload myself and finding powder and bullets hard to find. All I've been able to do so far is deprime, tumble and hand prime the clean cases. I bought 1000 180 gr TMJ's for plinking but don't have the right powder for loading yet. In search of 200 gr bullets and powder.

This site IC posted yesterday shows some stuff which appears to be instock bullet wise.

The powder and primers have been difficult also.  I want to find the new Hodgdon CFE Pistol to run some test with the 10mm and other cartridges.

Thanks everyone for your help. I'm using Accurate #7 because it looks like you can use it on all bullet grains. Is this a good powder to use.?

Gunbot.com is a good sight to look for components and powders. Suppliers post current inventory several times a day as new inventory is received. You have to be quick as powders don't last long especially the hard to find pistol varieties.

Thanks for the info Wade, but no 200 gr there either.  :(

Do the copper plated bullets hold up to the 10mm higher velocities ?

I've used it, Blue Dot, and HP-38 successfully. I like the Blue Dot, but this was using HP-38 and a precision Bullets 185 grain projectile. 21 feet with my Dan Wesson Razorback, pistol rest, and a set of Crimson Trace Laser grips.

Only problem is finding some place that still has HP-38 in stock. I finally got another couple pounds of it after months of shortage.

Some people think I'm paranoid because I have so many guns. With all my guns, what do I have to be paranoid about?

I don't load mine over 1100 fps and that's for GSSF matches. I try to get my loads as accurate as possible because I'm not. :))
