Don't mess up your chrono....it's not worth it!

Better off sending them to Andrew for a gel test.  8)

Even if I smack it the metal plate will take the hit. It's stood up to the strongest of .44 Magnum rounds  :o

I have done so many now I am darn good at it  8) If I have an unknown I aim high the first round and follow with one lower after I see the impact.

Okay....good luck!

Looking forward to seeing today's results.

The 230 grain from DT did just under 1000 out of David's Glock. I am curious to see what they do out of your guns, and also if it looks like Mcnett upped the ante a bit. The highest velocity 230 grain +p .45 round I could find is the Grizzly round that does 975. All the other 230 +p 45's do 950 for comparison.

Of course!

I didn't check Kevin's site..

I am wondering how much powder can be stuffed into a 10mm case with a long 230 grain bullet. It might not be capable of much more than 1000, but I am hoping it is. Perhaps you will find out today.

Do we know what length barrel Kevin speed tests his 45 ammo from?

Intercooler

    Stock Glock length barrel.

Looks like someone ran the 2-projectiles

It's not a cut and dry 1" high. No metal posts for these!

I agree with him, it is a neat concept. The stopping potential might be pretty good with the two projectiles.

The penetration is excessive though. It might be a better woods load.

It was 21 degrees when I started and 21 degrees when I left  :o The results were good and about what I predicted.

Doubletap 230gr Equalizer 2-Projectile JHP (Limited 4.75") 1036, 1035, 1043. Average = 1038 FPS/ 550 LBS
Doubletap 230gr Equalizer 2-Projectile JHP (Hunter 6") 1076, 1094, 1074. Average = 1081.33 FPS/ 597 LBS

Doubletap 230gr Hardcast (Limited 4.75") 1068, 1088, 1127. Average = 1094.33 FPS/ 612 LBS
Doubletap 230gr Hardcast (Hunter 6") 1112, 1103, 1128. Average = 1114.33 FPS/ 634 LBS

If you go by the new box flap rating of 5.0" for the Equalizer and 4.6" rating for the Hardcast these met ratings  :)

Thanks IC,.

So...I figure 1100+ out of the tactical 5.15" barrel.

Not too shabby.

The premise for the Equalizer (ball and bullet) arrangement was that two holes bleed more than just one.  :-\

Someone told me a bit of information on the 230's. When the pull-down is done they might actually weigh 225gr  ;)

For woods defense are you guys favoring the 200gr wfngc over the 230gr wfngc? While the energy is highet with 200gr momentum calcs are similar.
