jdweee, Welcome to the forum and sorry it took so long to get back with you, my niece was using my computer!  ::)

For the 180 Cast with 231,
Lyman shows the 175 gr using starting load of 5.9 grains @ 1115 fps 24,000 CUP & 6.5 grains @ 1181 29,400 CUP.

Looking at Hodgdon's data the 180 JHP with 231 starts with 5.2 grains @ 944 fps 29,700 psi and 5.8 @ 1061 34,900 psi

Typically you could use a cast bullet with jacketed data of the same weight.  Use standard primers and a COAL of 1.252"

That being said Hodgdon shows the following with 180 JHP using AutoComp,
7.0 @ 1119 29,800 psi and 7.7 1199 36,000 psi

Depending on the size, quality of the alloy and lube being used on the cast bullets you will probably be better off staying around the 1000 fps - 1140 fps range.

I would probably load at 6.0 grains with the 231
I would probably load at 7.2 grains with the AutoComp

Good luck!

Thanks, that should be a good starting point! I noticed in my question that I put LRN 180gr... I'm actually have LFP 180 gr... But the info you shared will work. Thanks again!

Your welcome, if you don't see any ill affects or leading you might be able to bump up the charge weights based on the results.  be safe!
