No hammer mark! You are ahead there and just need a heavy spring to prevent even the Nukes from slamming hard.

Henning's replacement fixes the factory flaw of the sloppy undersized rod moving around. It uses the entire taper surface to anchor and distribute the load instead of sliding into the opening only.

Ordered the Henning cone guide rod.  8)

Can you take a picture of the beavertail top surface? My Pro only had 10 or so round on it and got this with a 20lb

My hammer can't go back far enough to strike the beavertail. Could be a different hammer design on yours? I couldn't tell by your pic. Mine has the heart shaped hammer. The hammer opening (rear cutout area) lets the hammer travel back only so far.

Intercooler

True. If you can't grab it with your finger and physically touch it on the beavertail that's a plus! My Hunter frame is the same way being physically impossible by design.

Installed the 20lb spring and headed to the range. Man, racking that slide the first time was a bit of a surprise! Wow! I ran several weights of Underwood, 155 HP, 180 FMJ and 220 hard cast, and all cycled perfectly. I figured if I were going to have a problem it would be with the weaker 180g Armscor, but it also cycled without failure through a box of 50. I went through 175 rounds, slow fire and rapid fire, double handed and off handed, and nary a hiccup.  Saaweeet!

Sounds like a happy gun and owner combo!  8)

Glad to see the hard cast working. Will have to try myself in the Stock II soon. Your brass not flying into another county with 20lb spring I am guessing.

Intercooler

Shot the new load 220's today in my Pro without a hiccup. I will be posting the results in the Factory Ammo section in a second.

Glad that spring is working nicely for you and the recoil should feel less too. The Henning rod plus flat bottom and you are golden!

Received the Henning coned rod. Looks nice. Shiny! Looks like it will work just great. The 20lb spring has eased up a bit but still tough to rack. May try the 18lb.    :D
