Who can we convince to make us some extra heavy jhps? The 10mm is taking off in popularity. Two guys at work just picked up gen 4's.  My gen 3 is no longer lonely amongst my peers!   Just from looking at load data at bullet performance it seems like we could get a 215gr or 220grjhp moving pretty good in this caliber.

Anyone have connections at federal? 220gr hst, nickel plated brass, 1100fps, I can dream right?

Your best bet there would be looking for a custom mold.  NOE would probably cook something up for you so you can roll your own.

Trouble is making a jacketed hollow point over 200 grains gets to be long, not leaving room for powder and full charges are at or above the pressures.  220 gr. Cast bullets are more compact, so they sort of work at 1180-1200 fps.

It would be nice to have a bonded 200 grain HST, Gold Dot, Ranger T types, with the long skived jacket, that allows larger expansion petals.

But then again when you deepen the hollow cavity you make the bullets longer, but less velocity is needed to open them up.  The 45ACP was able to shove the larger diameter bullets, with its reduced velocity and results as such.

Just run a Sierra 41- 220gr or Hornady .41-210gr XTP thru a .401 sizer, works good ;D

So you just squish it down?  The sweet thing about the 10mm is the cartridge length so even if you lose some capacity whatever weight you add is still going to move good. I mean their are 220gr underwood loads going 1200fps, even if all we got was a 210 or 200gr deep cavity jhp moving 1100 would basically replicate 45acp weight but 2 extra rounds vs the big g21. Flatter shooting still too.
