I think a sampling is on the way but whatever is missing I will get before the weather shuts me down. Way too expensive to shoot much of but we will know if it's real 10mm!

Anyone want to see the Norma 170's in Gel (if the Gel Master okays it)? I will get the velocity and Shadow the pull-down.

The_Shadow

It'd be good for the preservation history of what they performed like, how fast they are and how they achieved the performance level.  ;D  8)

Has anyone ever put one into gel? The HP of that time probably wasn't all that great?

From my readings some said that the Norma 170 JHP's "Power Cavity"  didn't expand well at all!  I can't seem to find the data where someone pulled the Norma 200 FMJ...still searching my info.

BTW, I have a feeler out to see if I can obtain a Norma 200gr cartridge for pull-down as well...
Norma had 3 10mm loadings
200gr JTC @ 1200fps 635 Ft/Lbs   Norma Ref #11001
170gr JHP @ 1300fps 636 Ft/Lbs   Norma Ref #11002
165gr JHP @ 1400fps 719 Ft/Lbs   Norma Ref #11003 ? (these are more rare although some of the 170 were lighter weights)

Littlestone Ammo 155gr XTP rated 1450 FPS

Littlestone Ammo 155gr XPB all copper rated 1200 FPS in Nickel brass

Littlestone Ammo 180gr Gold Dot rated 1350 FPS

Littlestone Ammo 180gr Sierra rated 1210 FPS

Littlestone Ammo 165gr Gold Dot rated 1295 FPS

With that huge cavity I can see why the 155 HPB's are only rated at 1200.

I don't know why they loaded those so low. Buffalo Bore hits mid 1400's with the same bullet.

Interesting. I didn't see them at Cabelas yesterday.

Kind of interesting! I have no idea why the 155 Barnes were loaded on the low end but... all ammo shot from EAA Witness Limited Pro 4.75" barrel.

155gr XTP 1440, 1466, 1424, 1462. Average = 1448 FPS/ 722 LBS. Smoking along nicely!
155gr Barnes 1151, 1157, 1143, 1145. Average = 1149 FPS/ 454 LBS
165gr Gold Dot 1360, 1364, 1373, 1358. Average = 1363.75 FPS/ 682 LBS
180gr Sierra 1218, 1218, 1221, 1214. Average = 1217.75 FPS/ 593 LBS
180gr Gold Dot 1315, 1279, 1288, 1295. Average = 1294.25 FPS/ 670 LBS

Which 155 Barnes bullet...was it the TAC-XP? ???
Was this ammo from Barnes or the Buffalo Bore loaded with Barnes bullets?  ???
