Just came across this the other day and wondered what if any experiences you might have with it.

Thanks,

I carry the 180 load. it comes in two 180 loads. One advertised for hunting in the mid 1200 range and the other titled as "Defender" in the 1280 range. Cabelas has both on sale. I use out of the 1006. I use Underwoods 180 fmj's for practice so the Nuge rounds stick around.

I am keeping a box of 180 grain Nuge on hand. I would like to get some more in the future.

Are you guys targeting a certain velocity with the Nugent?

I am thinking 1200+ out of a Glock 20 for the original load. Maybe 1250 for the new "upgraded" defense load.

Georgia Arms 180 +P in a box of 50 for $31 is a better buy in that range. HPR in a XTP for $39 is also on par.

According to their website, Georgia arms only loads the +p version to 1150, but they are out of stock anyhow. Sometimes you can get Nugent at Cabelas, or on line.

I do like the Georgia Arms 155 grain Unicore though, which is loaded to 1375.

I think that is a typo. I have seen the actual bags with a higher rating and someone tested them giving that number or a little higher.

I think with Nugent round your getting more of a Norma load rating. Norma 170's were rated at 640 ft lbs I believe. Curious to see what the Defender round gets. Of course that was out of a 5 inch barrel Bren using Norma. Nugent Defender claims 655ft lbs.

I don't think you could go wrong with either load.  8)

How is the muzzle flash on these nugent loads? do you think he is using a flash suppressed powder?
