I  have an AMT JAVELINA HUNTER MODEL 10mm Longslide, that has a 7" barrel. I have a hog hunt scheduled in Arkansas, and I was wondering if anybody has had any experience with this same gun, either hunting or target practice. I am an amputee, and don't get out  to shoot as much as I want to. I bought this gun a few months ago, and it has functioned great so far, but I owned an AMT .22 magnum a few years ago and it had a jamming problem, so I sold it. I also own a Glock 20 and 29, as well as a Colt Delta Elite that I just bought as well, so I have several other options if I need to go with one of them. I love the 10mm round, and really look forward to killing something with it. I killed a big doe with my Colt King Cobra a few years ago, so I have hunted with a pistol before. I have always owned and shot a 1911 most of my life, which is why I bought the Colt Delta Elite recently. I realize that I need to shoot them all and use the one that shoots the best, but I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with the AMT Javelina 10mm with a 7" barrel? They only made this gun from 1991 to 1992. Thank you for any experiences or information that anyone can give me.

I'd like to find one and if I do, maybe then I could suggest something but it appears that you are one up on me. If you can hit comfortably with it , you should have no problem at all. Does it still have the factory sights?

Patman69, Welcome to the forum and congrats with your collection.  8)
One of the members (Raindrops) recently picked up a 5" model, don't know if he's tested it out yet!
That 7" should be a nice nice shooter/hunting piece!

Very nice . I wish I had a AMT  7" Hunter model.
If you handload I have a 215gr WFNGC cast bullets that should shoot good in your gun. I would be glad to send you 50 or so to see how they shoot in your gun .
I am going to Tenn next month hog hunting and will be trying to take a hog with my 10mm and the 215 GR WFNGC at 1220 FPS.
PM me if you want some 215 gr cast bullets to try . I will UPS them to you.

Thank you to everyone for your comments. I love this gun, and will have it zeroed in before my hog hunt in December. It does have the original factory sights, fixed front and adjustable rear . I am new to this site, so I am not sure how to add pictures yet, but I will investigate it. If anyone wants to see a 7" AMT Javelina 10mm that looks identical to mine, they had one on Gunbroker the other day, but I just checked and it has sold. But the Gunbroker item # is 364734124, and they will leave the pictures on for up to 30 days I think after the item sells. Sean, thanks for the offer of the cast bullets, but I am not set up yet to reload. I will be interested to hear how you do on your hog hunt in Pennsylvania though. I do have allot of once fired 10mm brass, so reloading is in my near future. As far as my AMT Javelina goes, there were only a couple hundred of these guns made, according to the listing on Gunbroker, so finding someone out there that has much experience to share with me may be remote. So, as soon as I shoot it and compare it with my Colt Delta Elite and my two 10mm Glocks, I will share the info with you. I will also be interested to find out how they compare, not only in groups but in ballistics. Only the best to my 10mm friends!

I am sorry Sean, you are going to Tennessee hog hunting, not Pennsylvania. Please let me know how you do, and I wish you the very buddy! Be safe, and shoot straight!
