Picked it up today after 100 day wait, cleaned and transformed it to the stuff off my old one (HiViz/Crimson Trace).

I still think this could be a night stand piece  Looking forward to seeing what the length bump does this Sunday.

Great gun! I have a 5" version that is a tack driver and they are built like a tank. It definitely falls under the category "if you could have only one gun".

You are correct. I couldn't imagine NOT have a .357 and this one is a tank! I put lots of nasty stuff through my 4.2" and it looked new when I sent it off.

I'm trying to track down that new 145gr to see how it performs. Hopefully Raggedyman can do some of the others to see what of those bullets perform well. Their is a ton there in all calibers to keep him smashing the gel 

Just checked the trigger pulls on it because it feels good both ways. 10.5lbs DA and 3.5lbs SA

Here is cut/paste where I did my old one with some others a year or so ago with my comments:

Match - 2.25lbs Yup she is too low!
Hunter - 4.8lbs About where the Match should be (4-5lb range)
1006 - 13.5lbs DA/ 7.5lbs SA No wonder it is the hardest 10mm to shoot!
Razorback - 3.5lbs About perfect!
XD9 - 5.5lbs Moderate
Ruger Target - 2.75lbs I wonder why people do trigger jobs on these?
Ruger Redhawk - 12.5lbs DA/ 5.25lbs SA Not bad for a gun this size I guess
Ruger GP100 - 10.5lbs DA/ 3.5lbs SA Pretty sweet for a revolver!

I picked up my GP from my 'smith today. Had a trigger job done cause it felt like sandpaper. It's down to 2 1/2 lbs. single action. Double action is smooth as an old S&W. These are great guns but they need a little    cleaning up to get right. Lots of tool marks. The trigger guard would cut you until I polished it. I guess they are just throwing stuff out because of demand. Mine is sweet now, gonna hunt a little with it starting next month.

True! I need to polish on mine some as well. They do shoot awesome!

Been blastin' away with the 5" GP. It would serve the layman handgunner, prepper, and admirer of functional, dependable weapons well. Blowing up fire ant mounds has replaced my hobby of looking for arrowheads, almost.

Probably one of the best values going for a good, solid .357.  I had two, a blued and a stainless and they're great shooters for sure.  If I hadn't got out of reloading the .357, I'd still have the stainless one.

Yeah, it's a fun gun. Years ago we carried 357's and then transitioned to .40's. A friend at work helped with the transition. A couple of years later he was going through a rough time and I helped him out. Shortly thereafter I opened my front door to find cases, many cases, of Remington 357/38+p ammo. I don't know exactly how it ended up there but I have a good idea. I'm still shooting it.
