It's not my place to question anyone decisions or authority here, but why did the Zimmerman and the LGS threads get moved?

The heading under General Discussion says, "... Gun Laws, Gun Politics, etc".  This is exactly what the Zimmerman case is all about.  Gun laws, and Gun politics.

The heading under Off Topic states, "Post Non-Gun Related Topics Here".  Sorry, but the Zimmerman case is definitely "Gun Related" .

I'm not sure why the thread was moved...However here is something I have to say;

QuoteSome topics/subject matters can be emotionally charged with differences of opinions, for example the (Zimmerman Trial Outcome).  If it were ONLY Me, I would have CLOSED that topic very early on, but those who participate are expressing or conveying information on an actual event that could affect our rights and freedoms in the long run.  Having to deal with the use of deadly force is one thing, the legal aftermath and public opinions are two different things.

This subject matter is very racially fueled, politically charged and even motivated, in the effort to stem our very rights and freedoms at its core. These emotions have shown here in the topics, to the point of being abrasive at times while trying to make a point.  While I read through the information I choose not to be very vocal in these topics keeping my opinions to myself.  I will say, a mist all the post I learned a few things.  The Court rendered verdict, and the Government wants to push its gun control agenda, off this racially fueled public opinions!  The system is not based on those opinions!  It is founded on laws, princples and facts as presented...  :-[

I agree Steve, the topic should be under General Discussion.

REDLINE

Steve4102 and pacapop;  I tend to agree.

Some amount of tension should be expected within various conversation because of each different individual's thoughts, opinions, and reasoning.  I think it's only natural, and that the main thing is that it doesn't get out of control.  And evidentially what is considered within or out of control will also vary depending on the individual.

Still, Steve4102 offers very good reasoning as to why the thread was originally posted where it started out and should be by definition.

Of course it certainly isn't ultimately up to me either where the thread ends up, so any ultimate decision by anyone who it is up to is fine with me too. ;D
Gun Control?  Oh yes, the theory that becoming a victim is somehow morally superior to defending yourself & your family.  Makes perfect sense.

I moved it since it was getting a little crazy. My thought was maybe it was better in another place than where new members are coming in for introductions. If one of the moderators wants to move it back that's fine. It was never closed and hopefully stays on a good path.

I read over all the comments up till now. I seen nothing that would warrant moving the topic. It's a deep rooted topic, but I seen nothing offensive. New members are gun owners/perspective owners of the 10mm and have a passion of such. IMHO only, not playing judge. Let's not go Political Correct, since that what were up against as gun owners among others things. My guess every gun site is lighting up over this. We are unique, we love the cartridge and the platforms that shoot em. We agree to disagree.

Hey guys
They were linked, so we know where they are
AND, at least they weren't locked (like some Forums do), even in their new location
So tell me again how Trump was worse then the 8 years before .... AND what came after HIM !

Looks like the 'RINO McCain' is endorsing reviews of "Stand Your ground Laws'. Not surprised. And the Zimmerman/Martin case was not even based on such.

Yes they were linked and I appreciate that.  My point was, future confusion.  If we cannot post threads about "guns" and "politics" in the Gun and Politic forum, where do we post  them?
Do we start them right off in the "off topic" forum, which has nothing to do with guns or politics or do we take a chance an post them in the proper forum and hope they do not get moved to some hidden location so they will be  harder  to find and more Politically Correct.
I appreciate the fact that this forum has a "Gun Politics" section as many gun related forums do not.  That said, if we cannot talk guns and politics in the "guns and Politics" forum, What's the Point?

Should be no problem putting those here. I initially started that one and didn't think it would get a little dicey but probably should have deleted it myself being mine. Sometimes that don't go over too well either though from past experience, so I took it off-topic rather than locking it totally. My call, next time I will just report it up the ladder which might be the better choice. Live and learn!
