REDLINE

I'ld like to see what those Sierra bullets look like after penetrating water jugs.
Gun Control?  Oh yes, the theory that becoming a victim is somehow morally superior to defending yourself & your family.  Makes perfect sense.

Any testing done with these yet?  One of my local stores got 5 boxes in and allowed me to take a peek inside at the bullet used so I knew if I wanted to buy them or not.  All 5 new boxes were the Sierra and the one remaining on the shelf matched my other box that I believe is a Winchester bullet.

Should be close to advertised specs.

The older Alliant data for Power Pistol in 10mm showed a max load of 8.7 grains under a 180 gr JHP for 1240 fps.  Gotta think an extra 15% of powder is going to make a difference.  I would guess them to be around 1325 actual measured velocity.

doverpack12

I figured they would make the velocity fine or be close since most Buffalo Bore is.  I was wondering on testing of the bullet.

Intercooler

They were tested a while back for velocity. You mean gel?

Raggedyman has a whole bunch of them but hasn't said when he will get to test any.

doverpack12

Yes I meant gel testing for the bullet.  I will wait eagerly for the gel results.  Thanks to all the testers on here giving great information to all the rest of us.

Buffalo Bore says their loads contain flash suppresant, Power Pistol is the flashiest powder I can think of other than BlueDot
I wonder if they are using Alliants new BE-86 powder http://www.alliantpowder.com/products/powder/be-86.aspx

it would make sense, seeing as how Power Pistol = BE-84
this new powder could be a touch slower burning, which would explain the heavier charge volume.

Oh boy, Im excited, I think BE-86 may be the new ultimate 10mm powder!!!

gofastman, thanks for the info...
Well if it is what it is labeled then would be more like Bullseye than Power Pistol?   However I did write a letter to Alliant asking for load data (of which none is listed in there newest online or loading pamphlet).

I wish they would have shown some data examples...

Hopefully, I will receive some info to study soon!

I dont quite understand what you mean here....
as I understand it BE and PP are very similar, PP being slower burning and more forgiving, but requiring considerably higher charges than BE

The_Shadow

Originally Power pistol was a derivative of Bullseye power hence the name BE-84 in the beginning.
This newer BE-86 will also be a derivative of Bullseye power adjusted and blended with the flash suppressants.
I am hoping for it to be closer to or slightly Power Pistol in speed of the burn rate.
However it might be somewhere closer to Bullseye? ???
