I have a few Facebook pages and a 10mm owner told me PBR's site has the V-Supreme ratings scaled back. Could be a misprint, but I'm trying to get Anthony for the straight dope. Until then I would hold off when this release in mid-May is announced. It may not be real 10mm! I'm trying to get a picture from the member of the box to verify. He's usually pretty good with getting back to me but hold your $$$ on buying until this is squashed.

I sent them an email over the weekend about the listed speed of the 200 grain V supreme load now being 1108 fps vs the 1250 it was when I last bought it. The owner got back to me in a day or so and said, It's a mistake on the website, the script that uploads it copies the wrong description from our database. It will be corrected this week and the V supreme loads are the same as always.

Intercooler

Good info! I'm glad that is all it is because they have a good future in 10mm ammo. It seems they caught on pretty good with everyone and make a nice product.

What's their chrono on the 200 grain XTP these days?

Intercooler

Expect 1200-1250 depending on the pistol.

All fixed! Here is the response I received:

It is a misprint, there was a bug in the script that grabbed product information from our database. It was grabbing the correct description but the wrong performance data. It has to do with the way the relationship between all the fields to create a listing was setup. I've fixed it and the performance data is now correct. Future refreshes from the database should take care of that problem. No downgrade from us.

How is the Glock getting better results than the 1006 if the 1006 has almost a half inch more barrel?

Intercooler

It's something in the straight cut rifling of the 1006 versus the Polygonal rifling of the Glock barrel. I get about dead equal out of my 4.75" Witness barrel as the 5" 1006 barrel in my tests too. It depends on the round a little but very close!

As an example here is what I got from Remington 180gr's for an average:

Match 4.75" 1116.2 FPS/ 498 LBS
1006 5" 1105.62 FPS/ 489 LBS

About 11 FPS faster out of the Match in the shorter barrel. It's that way for many rounds but I think the 1006 shoots the Hardcast better.

and my Razorback also a 5" barrel shooting the same Remington ammo but it's a Polygonal  1134.8 FPS/ 515 LBS. It always shoots higher numbers than both as it should. I actually look at those numbers as actually done from their own test guns and correct. They must not be from Utah  ;D

Yes, the Glock's polygonal rifling increases velocity somewhat.

I am surprised IC knew that, not being a Glock guy!  :P

Intercooler

I don't own one but talk with a bunch of owners and have held a couple :P

It's also why my Match numbers compare but are a little faster  ;D

So how do we convert the power factot to foot lbs? I guess I could look it up somewhere on the net.
