I just bought a box of 200gr tc lead bullets.  I have lee and lyman manuals but i see no data for a 200 gr lead bullet.  I just want to know a good starting point and oal for this bullet.  I use bluedot.  I'm just wanting to shoot paper targets, so i'd like to work the load up strictly for accuracy.  I have no desire to test the boundaries with this load.  Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

I have tested my 200 grain Speer Cast TC using Blue Dot with 9.8 grains @ 1180 fps, CCI350 COAL 1.2500"...from the S&W 1006 5" BBL, I have to go test my next batch using 10.0 grains of Blue Dot which I think will be @ 1200 fps.

These were sized to 0.4015" with Zambini lube(not made any longer)  The bullets I lubed last night are with a new to me lube from White Label Lube, Carnuba Red...

So would 9.8 be a good load to start with?  Or would i want to start lighter?  If so, how much lighter would be a good start?

Lyman Pistol and Revolver shows a TC 200 grain max load 9.0 gr load at 1173 fps 29,400 CUP from a 5" barrel.  Maybe you can start there...

However I've worked with Blue Dot since 1978 across various cartridges and shot shells.  The Speer TC cast 200 grain with 9.8 grains Blue Dot load was making 1180 fps and up to 1200 fps from my 5" gun.

I normally shoot the Hornady 200XTP at 10.5 grains of Blue Dot @ 1200 fps, Speer actually showed data for their 200gr TMJ at 1170 with that load, based on this I worked up to my load 0.1 grain at a time.

Yes my loads are above manuals recipes listed in today's publications...here is an older Speer supplement for 10mm.

Thanks a bunch...this gives me a good place ti start!  My main goal is simply accuracy, as the are strictly target loads.  Thanks again!
