It confuses me on all the data contained in there.

- Where did the 1350 FPS/782 LB Gold Dot offering go? It's not the same as what is offered now 1350 FPS/728 LB Montana Gold currently listed on their site: https://www.buffalobore.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=114

- The recorded reading for the publisher was 1256 FPS. Is that a fluke or is/was Buffalo Bore off that much? That's like a DoubleTap kind of off.

- 10.0gr's of some large powder kind of like 800-X. My plan was to get some additional Buffalo Bore for what type of powder but this may suffice if an ID can be made.

Looks like the publisher did the Underwood 180's as well and had Glock problems  :-X

Low 1200's out of the Underwood 180's. For sure a fluke since 6-10 of us have all seen it eclipse 1300 FPS in the same barrel length on a steady basis in different parts of the Country.

Intercooler, RDub's pull-down looks like Power Pistol powder...after seeing BE-86 powder pictures it possible that this and other Buffalo Bore loadings could be BE-86 with an identifier of slightly larger, translucent, off color flakes in the mix.

I know of some testing  of the Gold Dots using Power Pistol by TaosGlock this was his results...
Glock20/6" 180gr. Golden Saber 9.6gr. PP MV:1331fps ES-34 ME:705ft/lbs.
Kimber 180gr. Golden Saber 9.6gr. PP MV:1376fps ES-97 ME:754ft/lbs.

Modified to add BE-86 info...

So 10.0gr's would fit the Power Pistol model?

I think that was the MAC Ammo powder so need to look at the photo. Is their a way to put together a chart of powder type versus pressure? Kind of nutty the Power Pistol would show less signs of pressure than the 800-X. I always thought 800-X had the lowest pressure per grain of what was out there.

On a side note, I was pretty impressed with the MT Gold's performance. Gold Dots are usually my favorite but the MT Gold did really well, too.

I'm interested in those Hex plated bullets since it's one we don't have any data on other than Atomic's picture.

bbling1985

so we dont have the BB gold dot pull down? i saw the 9.6 grain power pistol in shadows post, but what was the OLA...just start at 1.260 n work it in?  am i correct that BB 180 gr sierra hp was as deep as 1.2465...aka 1.250?  looking for a good true power pistol load....

bbling1985

also i have some of the i guess older BB 180gr with gold dot hp, and they never reached or beat 1300 fps. at least in my tanfoglio elite match 4.75 inch barrel.  also the speer gold dot i bout loose, seem of higher quality heavier jacket/metal, just better made. the bb with gold dots when auto fed wanted to flip the mouth up on one side in my gun, but never happened with the ones i hand load.  the GD in the BB ammo the copper jacket seemed thinner and duller.  i can only use the store bout BB with gold dots, on teh top of my mag when i hand rack or just chamber them 1 at a time (in my gun)...i much prefer loading my own GD.  had great success with longshot and mocking say a swampfox i believe, but i need something 1300 fps with powerpistol and gold dot and 180 hard cast.

LongShot and Power Pistol are probably better choices that 800X, I still need to acquire some BE-86 to test with.  ::)

Are they better because they meter better or are faster or both?

Be-86 is very similar to Power Pistol except it has a slightly modified performance and flash retardants.  Both are derivatives id Bullseye Powder.  I haven't had the chance to work with it because I haven't gotten any locally yet...

800X and LongShot are more efficient because of the velocity for pressure, 800X doesn't meter as well as other powders (like paper plates) LongShot meter fairly well.  When working at these levels people should be hand weighing and verifying their work, there is no room for error at these performance levels PERIOD!  Sorry I am anal!
