10mm semi-auto handguns / Re: List of 10mm guns

New for 2017, the 10mm Kimber Eclipse Custom which is now a series 1, no more Swartz safety and a new charcoal gray lower color with a smoke stainless slide and G10 grips. I'm getting one to keep my Razorback company!

Gunsmithing / Heavier Recoil Spring & Carbon/Soot
August 27 2016 10:40:22 PM MDT
I changed out the recoil spring in my 10mm DW Razorback from the factory 20 lb spring to a Wolf 22 lb one without changing out anthing else. I did it to to help protect the slide/frame from excess battering.
I fired 100 rounds with the new set up tonight without incident.
The only thing I noticed was at the end of the night the muzzle was plastered with carbon/soot. Last week I shot the same Remington 180 grain ammo using the factory spring and didn'the notice the muzzle and chamber area being that dirty. Would the heavier recoil spring by changing the slide speed cause that or maybe the ammo is just inconsistent with the last 100th rounds of the case burning dirtier?

10mm semi-auto handguns / Re: S&W 1006 and Sig 220 10mm

I was thinking of getting one but they are hard to find locally and also I can't find any holsters for the p220 10 so for now I've been looking at 10mm in a 1911 platform instead, Dan Wesson Razorback or Silverback.

Gunsmithing / Re: 1911 10mm Strength

So I'm guessing a shorter life span than one chambered in 45 acp?

Gunsmithing / 1911 10mm Strength
December 24 2015 11:48:19 PM MST
Is a 1911 built to chamber 10mm built stronger than one built for 45 acp i.e. breach face, slide, frame, extractor, etc.?
Thanks, Sam

I have a DW V Bob and like it so I'm a DW fan but I'm curious,  among 1911's, why Dan Wesson over STI Nitro?
Thanks, Sam

I have decided to take the plunge and buy a 10mm auto pistol. So far I have narrowed it down to three guns, Sig p220 10 da/sa, DW Razorback or STI Nitro 10. I will use it for range work, occasional self defense and black bear protection in our summer place in the Adorondack mountains. I shoot 1911's very well and I have a p220 da/sa with an srt trigger that I shoot well so no real preference there. What I want is a good shooter that can take the punishment of heavy loads. Any informed advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Sam
