I have two 10mm Contender barrels, a 10 inch bull barrel and a 19 inch from their custom shop that is compensated. I've had the 10 inch since 1993, and have always used the same loads as I use in my Glock 20 and 29. With the now discontinued Sierra 190 grain FPJ the 10 inch barrel gets around 1,350 fps, which is about 150 faster than the Glock 20. I've only had the 19 inch barrel about a month and am working on custom loads for it. I've settled on 1.395 for the OAL, and am using Accurate #9. With the Sierra 190 FPJ I used 14.5 grains of #9, which is .6 grains above book max in the Accurate manual I have. That load shoots good, with no bad pressure signs. I wouldn't use that load in a semi, but since the OAL is so long these rounds won't fit in a magazine anyway. I'm waiting for some Hornady 200 grain hollow points, the HAP, not XTP, that I ordered from Midsouth. I'm hoping that bullet works good in the 19 inch barrel, and if so that will probably be all I use. Because of my long OAL lightweight bullets won't work. I'm thinking about using this rifle for coyotes and deer out to about 130 yards.
