Hello all. New to this forum, but not new to shooting or the 10mm. I purchased an RIA TAC 1911 II FS in 10mm, got it home and was unable to get the slide to lock back with an empty magazine inserted in the gun. Switched out the stock RIA magazine with magazines from a Kimber (Eclipse Custom II), a Dan Wesson (RZ01) and a Tripp magazine - the Tripp solved the slide-lock problem and worked the best. I was eventually able to get the gun to lock back with the stock RIA, but needed to shoot ~100 rounds through it first. yeah,i had the same problem with mine as well.tried 3 different mags and still didn't work so I modified the slide catch portion of the magazine on an anvil and made it work.no problems since then.

I just saw starline brass has 10mm brass in stock.hopefully it will still be in stock when I get paid next week.lol

I have one and I use either the magazines from my dan Wesson rz-10 or chip McCormickthe dan Wesson seems to work better

they are nice rifles.a few of the guys on our savage facebook page have them and love them.their only complaint is just not having enough room to shoot it to it's potential but other than that it's fine.

Private sale? What idiot would sell his 10mm. It is the ONLY pistol caliber I have duplicates in. Had two 9mm's, but traded one for a scoped Savage 110 30.06.

a guy who had problems with the slide locking back after each round and not locking back on the last one.of coarse that wasn't disclaimed in the add but hey,most things are fixable

thanks for the replies.i am looking into cast bullets around 175-180 grains.i don't cast bullets so that's not an option.i have bullseye on hand but usually use it for .45 acp and a mild 44 magnum load.i try to keep away from bullseye if I can and use a powder that fills the case a little better

right now I have bluedot,hs-6,trueblue,bullseye and a few others I can't think of right now and am fortunate to have access to a lot more.what bullet are you using sqlbullet?thanks,marty

thanks for the welcome.a rock island armory.i too dislike the glock.it doesn't fit my hand very well but it goes boom and I don't have to worry about it getting scratched.i usually carry it when I bow hunt in the mountains
