I carry 2....a 9mm P11 with 13 rounds of Fed Hydro-shok 124 gr. and a Para P 6.45 with 7 rounds of Rem 230 gr. Golden Sabres. The Para is heavy but shoots great and rides IWB in a Desantis and P11 rides in a pocket holster from the same.

So when bending the locking tab with the pliers the mag catch will need to be removed right?Or is it some thing I can do without disassembly....yet?

Well it "seems" that the mags have a little space between the bottom of the gun and base pad so it "might" not be the issue here.It feels like the mag latch needs more surface to lock better but I'm no Witness mechanic....yet.
I will order the new mags and the 22# spring but was wondering if I need any thing else to make it run.A flat bottomed firing pin block like my 1911s?With the cost of shooting these days I want to fix as much as I can with the
least amount of wasted ammo in doing so.Thanks for any and all help here guys!

Gunsmithing / Witness Woes

I just got my witness 10 mm vintage of year 2000 blue steel with red followers in 10 round mags and unlike my other 10s it will not run right yet.I have yet to replace the recoil spring and am thinking about a 22# as per reading on the EAA forums. The mags both "drop" out when firing after maybe 2 rounds so any advice in these issues would be much appreciated.I will order 15 round mags and a couple of recoil springs to tune with.

So I was looking at my FPSs to see if they were squared on my RIA and my Javelina 5"and found the Pig has an after market squared with maybe a 1/16 radius and the
Rock has a beveled with very sharp corners of a type I'm not familiar with.It is a stock part but resembles none of my other 1911 FPSs.Makes me say...hmmmmm

My new to me 5" Javelina came home with me fri as well as did my new R.I.A. Tac.II.Wow talk about total system over load!First thing being a cleaning and safety check of both. The Pig has a 22# recoil and squared FPS already. The Rock I installed a 24# recoil spring as per my guru's instructions and of course Wilson Combat recoil buffers in both and off to the range.I could not have been more impressed with either and both of these wonderful guns!!!Both shoot very mild and to point of aim each and every time you squeeze the trigger. We only shot from out to 30 yards as it was very cold out and not much ammo.

As it turns out, there is more to converting my 10mm long slide to .45 ACP then I am willing to do to my Javelina so I will leave my Pig intact as it is.My new to me 5" Pig will follow me home tomorrow. This one is a sow's ear I hope to "purdy up" s bit.

I'm also a newbie to the 10 world and found that one is not enough...so far I have a 7" and a 5" Javelina,a R.I.A. 5"and a Witness I have yet to see...it's on the way.(traded my tupperware 10 for real steel).

Don't try to fight an old guy.if he is too old to fight he will just kill you.

Well I will keep that in mind but not likely any time soon.I will get the new .45 cal bbl tomorrow and will go to my smithy to have it fit. There are a few of these on ARMSLIST so they are out there still.Good luck!
