General Discussion / Re: What a mess
April 27 2015 01:18:02 AM MDT
Thank you guy's for your thoughts - My dad had a fantastic life from my perspective
WWII nose gunner in the B24 Liberators, 58 missions in the South Pacific, 15 missions with the Australians as a gunnery instructor same type bomber and  since the could only fly every 4 days, him and the tail gunner would go out on the PT boats on missions as gunnery instructors( on the sly - they where bored sitting around waiting to go up again - young and dumb at 17)
Was shot down twice and crashed landed on an Ialand  both times on the one they where lost for 6 days before they where found by an Australian watcher and picked up.
Korea - was a master gunnery Sgt on the A26 Invaders, don't how many missions he flew, but said he never could get use to being fired down at from the hill sides by N-Koreans as the flew missions low in the valleys targeting trains and hitting train tunnels and bridges, at the end of Korea after coming back got his flying status pulled because they said he was color blind.
SOOO he retrained into radio security and military Intelligence and went to Vietnam.
Got his 30 in and retired to Alaska, bought a crab fishing boat and went crab fishing until mama said she had enough of this cold ass shit so dad said OK you have followed me around for 30 years its your turn now.
they moved to Arkansas then she moved them to Florida where she died at 79 and I moved him up to Georgia so I could keep an eye on him.
He led a life most people could never comprehend.
I will miss him.

General Discussion / What a mess
April 24 2015 09:04:34 AM MDT
I still haven't gotten to the range to test the V3 MagnetoSpeed system, my dad died ( he was 93 ) and I have run into some massive paper work, gives me a headache even just thinking about it. I'm glad I have a cell phone with unlimited calling range or my phone bill with the old land line system would be over a $1000 by now and I'm not done yet.
My wife is buying his house ( not me ) from the estate and since I'm the exseqitor  of the will, the bank says I have to be on the loan (not ) this is her deal not mine - I gave her the money for the down payment ( what a mess ) Plus I'm having a midlife crises ( at least thats what people are saying ) I'm tied up in a deal to buy a new Polaris SlingShot ( these people don't realize that I've been ridding motorcycles since 1965 and my current mc a VTX 1800 Honda is 13 years old - I ready for a new one. )
Thus I've been tied into knots for free time.
My plans for the SS is to have it ready next year to---
1. travel to Pa where I was born (haven't been back in over 20 years )
Than
2. travel to San Angelo Texas ( Graduated in 66 there )
Than
3. travel to Anchorage Alaska ( haven't been back there since 65, my brother lives there - we where stationed there from 59 to 65 my dad was in the Air Force )
You have to know your limitations - my body and my current bike can't handle that - so new bike and I will ride in comfort.

My bucket list.

So when all this turmoil dies down, I will be able to get back to shooting my beloved 10mm's again.

General Discussion / Re: AFTERMARKET Barrels
April 10 2015 08:27:18 PM MDT
Same as the stock G20 barrel - Its my EDC and have had no problems with snagging and it fits my G20 shoulder holster and with the G20 grip its a lot easier to get out - I carried the G20 for just over a year and now the G29 feels like the G20 and works like I never changed guns.

I use the LW 2 port barrel in my G29 to bring me back up to G20 specs in fps and the adapters for 15rd G20 mags - after getting the G29 I realized I didn't like my little finger hanging off the bottom - I should have gotten another G20 for carry after turning my first one into a Hunter - but corrected that problem with the adapters and the LW 2port barrel and now I have a G20 in all but size and a little more recoil - I love it.

And I might be one of the lucky ones in that all 3 of my LW barrels for my G29 and G20 operate flawlessly.

Or cause a FTF if the slide moves the firing pin just a hair back.

YOU ARE RIGHT  Raggedyman- though it  seems to takes alot more pressure on the barrel than the slide on mine. Doesn't matter - YOU ARE RIGHT

I got it in and the adapter for the semi's with pic rail's on the bottom - ala Glock and 1911's and I'm told some of the others. I will have to modify the adapter for the G29 - if it wasn't for the 2 port extended barrel it would not work at all. I'll get on that soon and than test it on the MT and my G20 6.6" barreled Hunter and G29 - fun  ;D  fun  ;D - I can get back into testing loads with out the other problems involved with the other chrono's

Crap - I put it in the wrong area :-[

I know on my G20 and G29 that if pressed too hard into the body it can move the slide back enough to disengage the firing pin - if my slide moves barely 1/4 " my glock will not fire - in my case on the G29 or the G20 I don't have that problem with the extended barrels I use. I have noticed that a lot of semi's have a slight barrel extension possibly negating that possibility?

I reloaded a long time ago in NY than move to GA in 85 and got away from shooting and reloading -6 years ago I started to get back into it. I jumped right into it by getting a 650 before I even had my 10mm glocks - thinking ahead about the cost of 10mm amo - I than proceeded to buy powder and brass ( still no glock yet ) it took 2 years before I bought my 10mm G20sf
to make a long story short I love my 650 but picked up a single stage RCBS press because there is so many things I found out I had to do to the brass to prepare it for loading - to me you can't survive with out a single stage press.
You need it first - not like me and did it backwards.
I went progressive so I couldn't double load a round but walk before you try to run you need so many things to get into reloading and it can get you down, just get a good single stage press kit with the goodies and work your way up - when you get to the 650 you'll be set and off and running - and it will make you appreciate the 650 when you get it.

Gear/Equipment / OK Shadow - I ordered one!!!!!
April 06 2015 07:06:18 PM MDT
I always said I would order a chrono if I could find a place to use it - no luck with out problems. I finely broke down and robbed my G40 fund and ordered a MagnetoSpeed V3 with an attachment for Semi Auto pistols - the attachment fits the pic rails under most 1911's,Glocks and other guns with the underneath pics - NO CZ's theres a problem with them and compacts also. My G29 will work because I have a 4.6 LW barrel on it.

And this one shows it in use on a Semi auto

Ishould have it in about a week or so - than its off to the range to try it out. It6 also fits my MT 10mm and all other rifles also.

I've switched over to the coated bullets SHADOW do you have the www's for them??
AAAAAAhhhhh try this for now.

https://www.google.com/search?q=coated+lead+bullits&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&channel=sb

I even coat my own ( nasty business - messy too but fun ) But I refuse to get back into casting again.
Anyway - its cheep enough to buy coated - and my experience with coated has been great - have found no upper limit on the fps for any of the 10mm coated heads yet.
