10mm semi-auto handguns / Re: What is the Sig 10mm?
January 22 2016 06:48:13 PM MST
The Sig P220 has been around a long time in .45, I have the match elite, one of my favorite handguns.  Couple months ago I bought the 10mm, its just as nice.

Both have less than 50 rounds fired.

KKM Precision Stainless Steel Barrel for Glock 29 Match - 10mm Drop in -  with 10mm Compensator Part # G29G1C.  The compensator has some nicks that will not effect performance, its priced accordingly.  Nicks can be seen in bottom picture.

Super Heavy Duty Tungsten Guide Rod and 21 lb Spring.

I have $285 in the barrel and $77 in the guide rod & spring, $362 total.  Asking $240 for the barrel including shipping and $60 for the guide rod & spring.

It did come with the dual recoil spring, I was mistaken.  It shot fine before I added the new spring and barrel but I was using really tame loads, PPU, Georgia Arms, even the Hornady CD are pretty tame.  I didn't try the factory spring or barrel with the Underwood ammo because I didn't have it with me.  It would chamber a round every time by just cycling the action by hand.
Thanks

This is what I bought, having problems with.

This is factory.

What a disaster, stopped by the range on the way home yesterday to shoot the G29 with the KKM barrel and new tungsten guide rod and 21 lb spring.  I wasn't prepared, I didn't have my original barrel and spring with me.  Literally 3 out of 4 rounds failed to feed, the rounds were not even close to chambering.  I tried shooting Hornady critical duty, Underwood 180gr and Underwood 200 gr and I used 4 different mags.  They were all JHP's, could these be the problem?  I need to go back with my original barrel and spring and see if I can sort this out.  Any ideas what the problem could be?

Thanks all
I ended up ordering the tungsten guide rod and 21 lb spring from the Glock Store.  I also ordered 550 rounds of the Underwood 180 gr JHP for carry and practice, plus one box of each of the 135gr, 165gr, and 200gr to try out.

Thanks again guys.
And again pardon my ignorance of Glocks.  It's a G29SF it doesn't have the removable back straps and doesn't have a double spring, does this make it a Gen 3?  I'll order the 21 lb and give it a try.  I bought this used, but like new, less than 100 rounds thru it.  It has, all installed by previous owners gunsmith, the 3.5 Ghost Ultimate, extended slide stop and lock, polished trigger parts, and Trijicon night sights.  Anything else that you guys would advise that I should get for it?  I've always been a revolver guy except for a few Sigs.  Any Underwood advise would be appreciated also, I want to get a couple hundred rounds of one kind to carry and practice with.

Happy Thanksgiving, getting ready to hit the road.

Sorry I'm new to Glock, I have no idea, whatever came stock from the factory.  I've been using the critical duty with the stock Glock barrel up to this point.  I just bought the KKM barrel and it also has no problem with the CD.  I really don't see much difference between 10mm CD and .40's thru my P226 which is why I want something a little faster.  If I go to a hotter load what rod & spring should I get?  Thanks again.

Underwood is having a sale and its time I stock up on some good 10mm for my G29 that has a KKM ported barrel.  This gun rides with me in the car and I carry it most of the time.  I currently use Hornady critical duty but I want to go with something a little hotter.  Anyone have a favorite Underwood load?  I have never had any of their ammo before.  I was thinking the 180 gr XTP Jacketed HP.  Thanks

Factory 10mm ammo / Re: PPU 10mm... has left the building!

PPU shoots fine out of my stock G20 and G29 barrels but jams constantly with my Storm Lake or KKM barrel.

610 no dash, 5" barrel.  There is a nice 4" on Gunbroker now.

Want to buy / Want To Buy: Glock G29 Aftermarket Barrel

Looking for a Glock G29 aftermarket barrel, longer than stock size, prefer a 4.88". No preference on manufacturer, Storm Lake, Lone Wolf, KKM... all okay.

Rifles / Re: The Marlin 1895 in 45-70 Govt.

I see this thread is older, but I just saw it.  I have a 2000 Marlin GG.  Love it, small compact and plenty of firepower.  Bought some Garrrett +P 540 gr Hammerheads, rated at 1550 fps.  Shot 2 of them, first out of curiosity, second out of ignorance.

General Discussion / FNG

Just found your forum and signed up instantly.  The 10 mm is my latest addiction.  I like large caliber handguns, not stupid large but in the .44 Mag, .45 LC catategory, Rugers, Smiths, & a DE.  I think that is why the 10 is such a natural fit for me.  I have a stock G20 and a Storm Lake 6" ported extra barrel.  I carry it in the car, rarely leaves.  I also have a G29SF in the car that I carry IWB when leaving the car.  I whoopied it up with a couple hundred dollars worth of ad-ons.  Presently looking for a Storm Lake 2 port 4.88" barrel for it.  I'm also seriously thinking about getting a Ruger GP-100 conversion to 10 mm from Clements.  I bought a 6" GP-100 when they first hit the shelves for the first time, if I do the conversion will probably cut the barrel down to 2.5 or 3".  I hope to learn a lot from the members here, thanks for having me.
