I just don't like the 40... The very first CCW pistol I ever bought was a 40 and frankly it was a letdown all the way around.

The 357 Sig does everything the 40 promised to do, but didn't.

More power, more penetration, better one shot stops... And does it with full and complete chamber support even with factory barrels, which was a major problem early on in the 40's life, and could still be considered a problem to this day, less of one now though

I know the 357 Sig costs more... But when you compare the rounds based on performance the 357 beats the pants off the 40... Except maybe in competition, the 40 has its place there and for good reason.

Pretty much how i feel.    357 sig all the way , so no need or desire for a 40.   G 31 357 sig all the way for me..

A bit late to the fun here but my 2 cents.   In NJ u have to apply for  pistol permits so I did but put in for 4.   First pistol collected

Glock 40

Next was supposed to be the Glock 32 357 sig.  Handled it and ugg didn't like the feel in my hand.  I tried to like it for a bit but then figured look at what I am doing trying to like something.  So no buy.   Then went to my other desire HK VP 9SK LE.   Fit like a freaking glove.  It feels so good I can't put it down and walk home with my first HK.

But while I was there I did handle the Glock 31 much better feel to me and next month the 31 gen 4 will be coming home with me in 357 sig.   Always wanted this round to be apart of my collection and it will be.

With my last permit I will be adding a 44 mag of some sort as I dearly miss one.   Dan Wesson,. S&W performance center or something else.  Will see. But I have time to figure this one out.

But can't wait to add a 357 sig to my collection.   Loaded with Underwood's finest it will be my house gun for sure replacing my S&W SSR 357 mag. 

Because it can do it all! 

Plinking=  yup

CC=  yup Glock 29

Bear protection = Glock 20 with the good stuff!

Primary hunting weapon= yup

Home Defense = yup a roo.


From mild to wild.  It does it all.

Ok now I want one for sure.  Sweet

A 100 bucks for 1 magazing.  Wow!  If I can't find the other one at his house then I will have to buck up and pick up 1 or maybe 2 more.  Boy am I going to look again.  Wow.


What are your guys thoughts on the 1006 gun itself.  Looks and feels like a bank vault.  Very solid build and looks like it can take some good reloads too.

It's sad to say, but I recently acquired the 1006 from my brother just last week.  He passed away at 50 from pancreatic and liver cancer.   But when I finally was able to go over and pick up some stuff that was his I remembered he had the 10mm S&W.  So that came home with me along with some other stuff.   

But here is the real question I only found 1 magazine.  Where or how can I find a few more?  I would love to have more if possible.

I will tell you the gun is pristine in every way.  It will be cherished for my life I can tell you that.

Also can you guys tell me about this gun the good the bad (if any) and your over all thoughts on this gun.


I appreciate any and all input.  I love the 10mm like we all do but didn't want to get this , this way.

Nice.  Not a n frame but I love my SSR 357 mag.   One of my favorite pistols

I STILL load mostly from a single stage Redding. Most definitely for load developmental! THEN its moved to the 550 for mass production.

Just like when building a load, I will lean to accuracy over top velocity. So a SS press gets me that accuracy.

pretty much.   

I load develop on my 650 but kind of use it as a faster single stage press if that makes sense. .  But when I want volume with a load I like its full bore 650.

my ancient rcbs single stage is rifle load development.   Looking to upgrade it to possibly a redding ultra mag.

I have had good results with even the lighter bullets but mostly shoot 180 or 200 grainers

unless remington does what it did to marlin lever action and F'ed it up.   Now you get crapola compared to the quality marlin of years past.

Nice shooting.  I also love LS.   But 1" @ 25 yards .   Wish I could see that good.  My loads might be able to do that but my eyes will never be able see good enough to prove it
