I bought a survivalsheath.com chest holster for my 10mm. Very comfortable for long hikes, sort of concealable, kydex as I lived in NW montucky(rains and snows lots). Easy to get pistol out from under weatherproof clothing.
I also have a Diamond D chest rig for my single actions.
Both rigs are well made and very useful.

General Discussion / Re: Using CB Bullets in your 10mm

very good lesson on cast. my size die was a.401, now after some work it is .402. I do use a LWD barrel in my 20 mostly for better chamber support.

I am shooting two RCBS molds, or the bullets from them...........RCBS 40/180 which weighs 191 grains and the 38/40 180 grain CM which weighs 184. Either is accurate, the CM bullet may be my choice for a do all bullet. I like the meplat like BarryIN and seems to feed well. The 200 grain mold offerings seem to me to be too long for enough WC 820. Very intersted in 480/475's mold from Accurate. We need pictures when you get some cast please.

10mm semi-auto handguns / Delta vs GeeLock
August 05 2012 01:57:24 PM MDT
My attorney has Delta(old) and i have GeeLock 20. We are considering trading guns, I have to add some money of course. As 40 year long 1911 shooter, I really love the 1911. As a new  Glock shooter, i can say this trade may not work. I like the Glock, except its UGLY. But it carries 16 rounds and there is an extra 15 right handy. It sure isnt a heavy loaded 45 Colt or 500 linebaugh, but 31 rounds makes me feel pretty ok when we are on the mountain.
What would you do?

I do my smelting later in the year when it is NOT summer. Be careful of persperation building up in your face shield and then coming out on the surface of the lead.

I am going to seat the bullet out, should be able to make a round at 1.250 with the three cast bullets sitting on my loading bench.

This will date me..........
We were issued the FBI 38 special load, 158 SWC hollow point for our S & W Model 19 four inch. (sigh) My partner was a gun guy also, somehow? the bullets fell out of a whole box of cartridges and were reloaded with 12.5 grains of 2400.(carefully) We never got to use them though, too bad.
I did shoot three cylinder fulls of factory Winchester at an idiot one afternoon hiding in a snow pile and sticking Browning High Power over the top and emptying in our direction. I was not so happy afterwards when we started recovering bullets that went 8 to 10 inches in snow...........and did not hit the idiot.
Wish I had a G20 or even a 357 load then.

My buddy Wally was messing around the shop today, emptied my G20 and reloaded the magazine with 5 40 S&W's Went out and shot them in the plate. Has anybody tried fooling with 40 cases in a G20? I am going to town and gonna pick some once fired 40's, load them with WC 820 and a 174 grain SWC(Magma 170 gr) . might be a fun load playing in the hills, just shoot and leave the brass.

Oops, sorry. The powder is surplus WC 820 (lot 47320) at 14 grains. Was sold as Accurate #9, new #9 is different and easier to ignite.  Yes the as cast weight is 191. Yup, stout load but its just a geelock and therefore replaceble if  it falls apart from heavy use and loads. I bought it for a carry gun in northwest Wyoming, espcially for wolves in the winter but a face full of these might even give snotty grizzly a headache or worse the rest of the year.
