Thanks, you've both told me exactly what I wanted to know. BTW, will the Grand Power shoot full power 10mm loads (Underwoods)?

General Discussion / Grand Power 10mm availability
March 13 2017 08:37:29 AM MDT
Guys, I need your help. Is Grand Power's 10mm generally available in the U.S. & who would have one of these for sale?

Also, what is the name of that shop that sells aftermarket parts, etc. for EAA guns?

Thanks for your help!

What is it about a flat bottom firing pin stop that makes them desirable?

Not intercooler, but a1911 with a ramped barrel like the Dan Wesson will be fine.  If yours is one of the earliest Dan Wesson with a frame ramp them you will want to stick with Delta elite loads.

Unlike the Glock, on 1911 the stiffer recoil spring does far less to hold the gun on battery.  The link controls that.  The barrel slide are gonna move about the same no matter what, and the bullet will be looking gone by the time it moves the. 25 inches for unlock.

A flat bottom firing pin stop is the only upgrade I apply to my 10mm 1911's, regardless of barrel type.  If I had one on 45, it would get one too.

10mm semi-auto handguns / Intercooler: HELP!

Intercooler, I've directed this post to you because I know you are familiar with the gun in question, a Dan Wesson Razorback. With the factory standard 20lb. recoil spring is it safe to shoot Underwoods (180 gr.) and Buffalo Bore or should I use a stouter (24 lb.) recoil spring?

Thanks for your help.

Thanks Hunter, BTW, I am working on the next article about the NORMA ammunition.  8)

After reading your outstanding Swampfox article I'm hoping you will also post here a link to your forthcoming NORMA article.

I'm personally waiting on the Grand Power. If the Sig pans out nicely in the first wave of buyers, I might sell the 1006 for one.

Have you heard any word on how much chamber support the Grand Power has?

Update had a buddy who is a gunsmith at a local range take a look at the sights on the 1066 today and the front sight had been moved to the left.
We took a sight vice to her today and as of now she shoots where I point her!! I ran a quick 50 rounds of the Priv light stuff through her on the range today and got nice tight groups with no issues. Digging this one big time!
Anybody got a source for a nice set of some purty wood grips fer one of these??

You may find what you need here: http://www.hoguestore.com/index.php?main_page=index&manufacturers_id=3

Caution: the wood grips here may make the grip considerably larger.

Thanks for the replies. My Fusion long slide came wit a 20lb. spring but the manufacturer advised a 24lb when I told him what I shot. The 1006 presents a different dilemma: That, and the other Smiths, were designed when the Norma load was around thus you would think that it's robust enough with the 18lb. That said, a 20-22 lb. spring doesn't sound unreasonable and there's something to be said for keeping your brass in the same county you're shooting in.

Guys, Wolff's website says that the factory standard recoil spring for the 1006 is 18lbs. Is that what you would recommend when shooting full power loads a la Underwood & Buffalo Bore or would a somewhat stouter spring be more appropriate? Thanks for your help.

General Discussion / Re: Introductions

Hi. I'm Hank from Lexington, Kentucky. What a great discovery for me this forum is, a gold mine of smart people and good data. You guys rock! My first 10mm was a Fusion 'Traditional Hunter' long slide 1911 quickly followed by Smith & Wesson 1006 and 1076, then a Glock 29. I'm eyeing a Glock 20 which brings me to a question: Lone Wolf makes stripped long slides for the Glock 20; can any of you recommend a gunsmith you would trust to fit it with the needed parts (extractor, etc.)? Thanks for any help you can give me.

P.S. I really appreciate all the reloading data you've posted.
