Reloading / Re: Got Starline Brass Today

I love that nickel coated brass as it is much smoother for loading nad ejection. In my SA does not stick at all when some of the regular brass will stick a little on a hot load but a gentleman on here told me how to solve that and it worked very well on the 10mm side. The other cylinder I have not tested yet as the ammo has not got here yet.

I agree on the above. I'll also add this, that to my old eyes I can spot a split case neck or a case that is about to suffer a catastrophic separation much easier when dealing with nickel plated cases. Now that is just my experience, other milages may vary.
Take care and stay safe all,

ganddog56, are there any particular brands or types or SS media I should purchase. I already have a good quality large rotary tumbler I have been using for rocks gemstones and such for years, but not using SSmedia. I have even cleaned/polished particularly hard metal parts in it over the years. For the most part I hand load 9MM 10MM 204Ruger 5.56/223Rem and 338Lapua. I guess my question is are ther different sizes/types of SS media I should use for differant caliber cases? Thanks in advance for any advice or help.

Only a bit of experience here with the Winchester Black Talon 40S&W, perhaps 500 or so rds. But I can say that I personally have shot well over 3K of the 10MM Winchester Black Talon factory loads from multiple 10MM platforms. For a subsonic round it never failed me in regards to any four leg critter I poked it with, additionally it was always more accurate than myself when punching paper or destroying zombie mellons or can goods. Other than the "cool looking" factor of recovered projectiles and the BS hype the press and some so called medical professionals tried to potray in the lame stream media I personally found it to be a average to decent performing projectile with a amazing advertiszing /promotional campaing behind it. BTW for those that feel they must own the mythical death ray loading from Winchester, AKA the 10MM Black Talon, I still have a case or so I will sell for $100.00 per twenty rds. Just kidding, they are not for sale as there are far better rds in every caliber these days and I am keeping the last couple of cases to help pay for my meds once Obama care fully kicks in. :D

Indeed it appears I posted in the wrong forum, whoever has the ability please feel free to delete or move my post to its proper location and my apologies for the mis-post. However I did not see anything in the links you posted that would pertain to my question. Personally I have no faith in Corbon as the last 200 rounds of their ammo I purchased had about a 60% ratio of primers coming completely out of pocket when fired through factory stock Glock model 29 and model 20. I then (wrongly) figured I could shoot them through my 610 Classic or Buckeye Blackhawk and all they did then was lock up my revolvers. I once was a Corbon fan, well needless to say I am no longer. I am sitting on approx 3-4 K of .40cal Remington 165GR GS BJHP projectiles that I was smart/lucky enough to buy from MidwayUSA way back in the day, and nearly an equal amount of Remington 230GR GS BJHP projectiles.

More often than not(but not always) leading issues are a result of a rough bore. I have hand loaded everything in almost every common caliber(and a few not so common)for both long gun and hand gun using lead projectiles, from both the "softest to the hardest" types of lead. Other than minor normal accumulation of lead which is easily dealt with, the only time I experienced any serious issues(aka over pressure or spikes in pressure)were due to a poorly made or maintained bore. I will add this, quality properly applied lube aka wax and even sometimes gas checks are a lead projectile hand loaders best friend. In my experience I have had far more issues from copper fouling than I have ever had from "leading". Additionally you must remember the that the Winchester 1892, is much like a mini model 1886 in regards to build and has the same vertical dual locking system which is an extremely strong action, but having said that IIRC the1892 was origianlly chambered in cartridges such as the 25-20 32-20 38-40 44-40 and a very few in 218 Bee <(which I have never even seen(a 218 Bee)let alone shot one)by todays standards none of these were even close to off the chart high pressure cartridges as originally loaded. As always others milage may vary, but FWIW I am far into the high hundreds of thousands of hand loaded lead projectiles sent down range. Good luck be safe and lets see some photos of that piece of functioning art.

Would I be wrong in assuming that when using the stainless steel media in a rotary tumbler that one just needs to rinse it clean every so often and it most likely has a lifespan longer than I will.   ;D

I rinse them out after every use. When I dump the dirty water I do it through a sieve with a cheesecloth bag . The media falls through the holes in the sieve and collect in the bag. I do this while shaking the sieve and running clean tap water through so the steel and brass both get rinsed off at the same time.

Okay but back to my question ;) can I assume that the SS media if cleaned bacisally will out live me and or my brass? Because if so I am jumping on the rotary tumbler SS media band wagon ASAP!!! I could go forever and not miss dealing with corn or walnut media ever again.

Reloading / Remington Golden Saber 165GR BJHP loads

I am just curious if anyone is doing anything that would fall into the high performance(aka full house 10MM loads)using this projectile. I will be using virgin brass and shooting them through my S&W 610 Classic. Thanks in advance for any info/experience you may care to share.

I don't have any problems getting on, but that could just be timing. However I have noticed this site seems to be very slow at times in regards to response time compared to others I frequent. Not really an issue for me as I have no life :P, just an observation.
